Hey, you don't know me. Until you get to know me, or talk to people on this site who do (there are about 5 who really know me), shut your motherfucking mouth. You piece of shit. You want to call me names, let's meet and you can do it face to face. Do you believe strongly enough to stand up for it? You fucking pussy, hiding behind your computer. Name the time and place or shut the fuck up. Greg W GregW, I think I have a pretty good idea about you. Of course that understanding is by no means static, yet you continually reinforce it. Your above response does nothing to dispel my general ideas. I also find it quite humorous that you so quickly challenge me with physical confrontation....Perhaps there is more than a grain of truth in what I said? Perhaps the UN should investigate this matter? (Or would you play it like Saddam?) Furthermore, I did not call you names. I was attempting to characterize your behaviour with descriptives that many might be offended by, but this doesn't make it name-calling. "You stinking dodo bird" is a better example of name-calling, since it is quite obvious you are not a dodo bird. Oh, and "You piece of shit" is also an example of name-calling, since we both know that beyond metaphor, this simply couldn't be true (unless I have one stinky keyboard). As to the challenge of confronting you in the physical dimension, I'm more interested in this: Why on earth might you be so incredibly incensed by a rather bland characterization by someone on the internet? A simple question.... And one last thing: Whether or not you are racist, sexist, or violent, probably has little import for me personally, beyond the fact that I would prefer racism, sexism, and violence to be done away with. And when pressed, I think I would qualify my previous assessment: I don't think you ARE, in any static way, a racist/sexist caricature, but I WILL say that I have noted behaviour on your part that reeked of both traits. This I stand by; I have no reason to announce it to you in a more personal way. (I find your challenge to a duel quite romantic, but I must confess: I hold very little respect for the antiquated notions of settling disputes with barbaric displays of violence. Perhaps if you argued with Trask, he'd be happy to oblige?)

I already made that argument, and he chose to ignore me. I was watching Peter Jennings last night. He spoke with a US minister who had recently spent time in Baghdad, and what he said was that the people he spoke to were unequivocally OPPOSED to a US armed invasion. He said that the people weren't necessarily all that happy with many things Saddam did, but this did NOT mean they wanted an invasion. They were more of the mind that they should be left to work out their own problems. Another interviewee was a professor of Political Science at Baghdad University. He was a former member of the Baath Party, some twenty years ago, but split with them for some reason. He has actually been a critic of the Regime, quite outspoken about abuses regarding ethnic minorities, in particular the Kurds in the north and Shias in the south. I really didn't know that any dissent was allowed, so to hear from an activist of sorts was really something. Kurds and Shias=Native Americans in the US? And again, should Cuban exiles dictate foreign policy regarding Cuba? Many favor an immediate invasion, justified mainly by hyperbole. I don't want to discount what Iraqi exiles say, yet I am cautious.

Do you ever embarrass yourself? Not that I necessarily favor group censure, but....

What defines the lowest common denominator in terms of human behaviour? Also, what causes it?

Nice one. Unfortunately a little too accurate, Trask (what I assume was a stab at humor?).

I have come to the conclusion that GregW is an insensitive racist caricature being manipulated by someone rather simple-minded. Perhaps Ronald Reagan is a visitor here? Ooops, but Ronald Reagan was simply an insensitive racist caricature being manipulated by dinosaurs (Go America!).

Dru, you seem a bit sensivitive about my rather innocuous question about the differences; your Canadian upbringing giving you some guilt w/r/t your avatar? Greg, I never even thought of it in the terms you presented, and I'm honestly having a hard time understanding exactly what you mean. My thinking is more along the lines that Chinese people have suffered much more from racism than have Russians. I think most of the ones offended by the Harry Pi caricature are simply sensitive to this fact, something that seems so incomprehensible to those who find humor in the characteristics that have been used to portray the Chinese in a negative light. I don't think Russians have ever been subjected to this.
-
There was quite an outcry about Harry Pi being an insensitive racist caricature, yet I haven't heard any outcry over the antics of Milosh what's-his-name. What gives? Curious as to your thoughts on this.

Hey, I'm sorry about the bottom of the cage comments; those were out of bounds. I truly do hope you live a happy and peaceful life, with full spiritual satisfaction obtained from your daily yoga practice. Ommmmmmmmm.....

I entirely disagree. Now get back to the correct thread, unless you quite accurately believe that many similarities can be noted in both Hitler and Bush, including a usurpation of Constitutional Rights afforded the citizenry of our beautiful country.

Ah jeesus. What the hell does his age have to do with it? And, What's your excuse?

My fellow construction workers love me, and I love them too.

Your welcome, although this cordiality is really starting to discomfort me. So in order to relieve said discomfort, please allow me to call you "nincompoop" immediately. Thank you.

North Korea. I believe ElBaradei(?) stated that a state's nuclear capabilities can be understood without that state's compliance. Iraq can be contained entirely without war, at a much much much much lesser cost. You didn't see them attacking anyone in the last 12 years, did you? Duhhhhhhh. -
"Effective", oh bright eyes. People should go see Blind Spot- Hitler's Secretary, while it's still playing at the Varsity.

And furthermore: What's this thing about "support our troops". Can someone explain what the hell that means? Please? Our "troops" enlisted in the goddamn armed forces knowing full-well (maybe not?!?) that they might be called on by some goddamn administration (that doesn't give a flying fuck about them) to go out and kill people. You can look at every conflict we've had since WWII and realize that war is nothing but the instrument of terror for the elite. I tried hard to find a photo of our good troops sending a bomb down on Afghanis with the inscription "Hijack this, fags", but was unable to, since I believe the rights-owners of the photo (CNN?) probably wanted it out of circulation. Fags? Yes, the military fosters the type of mentality that I would want for my children, and my friends' children, and their children, etc. I have so much compassion for the individuals who will find themselves facing death in Iraq, both Iraqis AND Americans, but in no way will I "support" them in their quest to KILL KILL KILL.

Unless an apostrophe is used. As in "This pussy's location is not making sense; Trask, where's your penis?" Or perhaps "Trask, pussy's not spelled "pussys" when pluralized; perhaps home-schooling wasn't a good idea if one's parents are orangutans?" Alright alright, my apologies for the sexist and speciesist humor; I've been doing construction lately (and the careerist humor!).

Where do you work? Do you have a poll on how many Iraqis will die? A poll on how many Americans will die? A poll on when your family might die? Sounds like a great game you're playing, but I'm not in.

Oh, and one more thing, JayB. You seem very concerned about human rights violations in Iraq. Do you think human rights are more protected in Saudi Arabia, our ally (public stonings, beheadings, detongueing(?), limb removals), or Qatar (same?), Yemen (repeat again?), all our allies? Would you agree there are more on this list? Seems pretty hypocritical on your part.... And the Hutu/Tutsi scene....Any idea the CIA were backing the Tutsis, through all reprisals? Oh, those nasty French!

Every year there are reports of people dying from falling bullets? Why haven't I heard of this? It seems like something of this nature would be broadcast on the evening news. I can certainly understand a larger caliber bullet with enough velocity (my bazooka comment was silly) to kill.... But it seems important as to whether or not the bullet kept its "rifling"(?) properties intact during flight; if it starts to tumble, it would slow down significantly? But in the meantime, maybe we really should keep from firing our rifles straight up in the air, as a precaution, of course.
-
I don't believe it, unless it was a bazooka they were firing.

Does my identity become known if i admit to leading Red m&m's onsight last year on gear, with rp's falling out of the seam when test yanking? 12a? Ppphhhhh. Not very sick, if you ask me. Iron Horse is harder. Hell, Japanese Gardens at 11c/d is harder!
-
I do believe that an understanding of physics, or simply a familiarity with case history, would lead one to conclude that the terminal velocity achieved by a bullet in free-fall would be less than the velocity necessary to create a dead humanoid. Or dead sentient non-humanoid. No not true-a mouse might die. Anything bigger than a breadbox would be ok? Maybe not a Portuguese Man-O-War, but I'm not sure. What is bigger than a breadbox, yet killable by a bullet reaching terminal velocity in free-fall?

It is quite relative. Is it ENTIRELY relative? Hmmmm.....

JayB, you seem to insist on the presence of overwhelming Iraqi civilian support(?) for an invasion, citing this as evidence of its moral justifiability. I'd like to see this overwhelming support, since the information I see tends to support the opposite. From what I gather, the Iraqis don't want the US anywhere near their soil (a sentiment shared by many Arabic peoples); they would rather have a return to what was once perhaps the most equitably prosperous economy in the middle east. After 12 years of US-led sanctions killing perhaps more than 1.5 million, do you really think they see us as a liberating friend? Not according to what I see! I think much of your info comes from Iraqis living in exile, but really, how representative can they be of those living in Iraq? I don't know myself, but I do have to question this. If the Cuban exiles in Florida were asked, I'm sure you'd find overwhelming support for an immediate invasion of our neighbor island. Hell, if you interviewed ten million americans, I'm sure you'd find a sizable number who would favor a military overthrow of our present government. I think the above examples are indicative of the problems faced when trying to decide foreign policy based on disgruntled humanoids. You then speak of the positives of regime change, as shown in the cases of Germany and Japan. I think we both know that an outcome even close to similar with these examples would not arise from the ashes of Iraq. The region has had enough western-led regime changes, and we can clearly see where that has led it. How can you even begin to think this time would be different? Because we now have an administration in place that has the will and commitment to follow through with the work that needs to be done to allow stability to grow? Bwahahahaha! Oh my god, you must be off your rocker. Look at Afghanistan for an immediate example. Funny how you never hear about it anymore, huh? Perhaps because the administration would rather not have it brought up? Because the country has returned to war-lord rule? Because the women still wear burkas, and the Taliban is starting to exert its influence again? Because the US troops, all 8000, are centered around Kabul, protecting a presidency that has no effect outside the city, and would cease to exist if not protected? Ahhh, the sweet smell of success: Blossoming body-bags, led by US inc. What do you think of the administration's handling of the N. Korea stituation? () /\ (Which hair-do you like better?)
