looks like canaduh is 10 years behind the u.s. with regard to it's leadership using drugs.

i thought all schoeller fabric was made by the same company in germany (named schoeller oddly enough) and the different brands cut and sewed it into their product.

i like it. i like what it says about the human condition. i care less about it as a comment on catholisism. also, the inscription is pendantic/whimpy. maybe it has social relevance beyond child abuse and could also be about fundamentalism? i wish dwayner were here to get in a big sprayfest about it.

a bollard that was really a 3 ft chunk of snow sitting on a nice smooth slab. this was at partner's insistance despite the fact that right next to it i found a big snow/ice flake that already had a hole in it! not really scary because we half down climbed. i try to avoid doing stupid stuff whenever possible.

thanks for posting. i just wasted about an hour at work. i'd heard about the catalog but had never actually read it. i found the influence british ethics really interesting, and how the brits had different concerns from the continentals. i wonder if this plays itself out in our modern use of the term "french free". but what would john long say about fig 7 on p. 22?

there must be some confusion out there because this morning on the BG there was a cop standing in the crosswalk stopping the cars and waving the bikes through. thanks mr. nice policeman!

you're not going to argue with me because you're losing. so somebody posts a story about how dangerous guns are and you say cars are just as dangerous. i point out that cars are regulated by police so why not regulate guns the same way and you say never mind that arguement. why bother argueing with morons.
-
No to both. but i thought a gun is like a vehicle with respect to being something that is dangerous if not used correctly? our cars are dangerous weapons, and we have cops patrolling the roads to make sure people are using them safely, and we are required to bring them in for inspection. so in the case of automobiles we already sacrifice a small amount of liberty to insure public safety. why doesn't the analogy hold for guns as well? huh? we talking about 4 y/o girls getting shot here, how about letting up on your excessive need for privacy?
-
Home gun safes, education and a clue. Prosecution and a revocation of said moron's gun rights if all else fails. Oh, and what Fairweather said about you being racist, goes for me too. trask- would you be ok with random home inspections by police to make sure guns are stored safely? would you be ok with a gun registration tax to pay for enforcement? i apologize for making fun of white trash, i didn't know you guys were sensitive. i guess i didn't think i was being racist because i'm white and i was just making fun of people being trashy and stupid and leaving loaded .45's lying around. but in the future i will keep your concerns in mind.
-
other than complaining about the fact that 'some white people are sure fucking stupid', what are gun enthusiasts suggesting be done to prevent negligence accidents like this in the future? cuz damn, there sure are alota stupid white people out there.

i just received this over an email distribution list. author's name witheld. my condolences to friends and family on this tragic accident.

for 10 extra points what real life person was Roseanna Roseannadanna clearly based on? answer at 3:00... while Roseanne Roseannadanna achieved national fame on SNL few outside the NYC area have ever heard of the local newsanchor named Roseanne Scarmadello (sp?) from chanel 7 (ABC) "eyewitness news" covering the local scene for the New York city area back in the 1970's (also when the SNL skit aired). Sadly, only new yorkers know that the comedy charicature version was only a slight exageration of the real thing. Sadder still was Scarmadello's co-host, young Geraldo Rivera, who went on to bring his schlock journalism to national television in the years that followed. Geraldo only slightly redeemed himself by playing a charicature of yellow-journalistic self in the film version of "bonfire of the vanities". And then there was the drunk weatherman named Bill Bixley or something who was always getting booted off the air for his off-color sexual comments, only to be brought back by popular demand (kinda like trask i guess). eventually, after a sensationalistic story about a 12 y/o girl getting raped, he came on with the weather and suggested to the teenage girls watching that if they ever get raped to just "lie back and enjoy it". I guess ABC felt they needed to can him for good after that.

i've been skiing the dynafits a couple years nows and am reasonably adept at getting in and out of them. i think it's a really good idea to practice on the living room carpet a little. i have experienced the dynafit's pre-release issue a few times. lou dawson describes the ski flex issue pretty well on wildsnow.com. it mostly happens to me when i'm attempting to jump turn in really heavy wet snow - if the tip and tail flex down it lengthens the distance between the front and back pins and your heel pops out because the pins aren't long enough. they made the rear pins longer on the tri-step to combat this. anyway, it concerns me when i'm jibbing above crevasses, even though firm conditions don't seem to preoduce the effect - yet. it is a bigger problem with lightweight skis that flex more like the trab sintesi's i'm using. i just ordered a pair of mira's off STP on impulse (wanted the old graphics ) and i will probably end up mounting them with daimir's because of this issue, but also because i already have a lightwieght touring set-up and would like to play with a full on shred on the downhill set-up for variety.

On my bicycle ride home today I was almost hit by a car at an intersection because the driver did not see me because she was using a cell phone. She did not hit me because like many bicycle commuters I have learned to look at driver's eyes to make sure they see me. I saw her holding a cell phone up to her ear and stopped even though I had the right of way and she cruised through the intersection completely oblivious. I was not particularly surprised by this because it has become a common occurance for me. I was mildly angry at the time (I would have been injured I'm sure had it not been for my visual diligence), but I refrained from shouting obcenities because I know some people are sensitive and also she wouldn't have heard me anyway. Washington State needs to pass a law against using a cell phone while driving. New York State has already passed such a law. Studies and reviews of accident records have shown that using a phone impairs your ability to drive safely. Washington State needs to pass a law against driving while using a cell phone immediately because it endangers other drivers, bicyclists, and pedistrians, as well as passengers in the offending party's vehicle. Also note that this driver and many others like her (I see plenty of guys on phones not seeing me too, trust me) are out there and dangerous. If I called the police right now with her liscence plate and my story NOTHING would happen. The last time I called the cops asking for protection from motorists (a driver had deliberately run me off the road at night as an apparent joke or something) I was told I was on my own.

ok i'm not going to click it. but what it is it?
-
i bike and see lots of dumb bikers out there. lots of dumb motorists too. and there are smart bikers and smart drivers. that's why overgeneralizing and advocating violence accomplishes nothing.
-
so the whole scenero now works against the utility of a gun for self defense, which was i think the anti-gun argument to start with.

too late, i already let him go. he was humming some motown though, maybe it's a muskrat.

so this dog that belongs to the people upstairs starts barking his head off and i go to tell him to shut up and i see this dead possum right on the stupid dogs bed and i'm like GROSS! so i don't want to mess with it, let the stupid dog eat his gross dead animal. but as i'm walking back into my apartment i'm thinking "playing possum" hehe and i go and look and sure enough it's breathing. so i figure i'll spare it the ignomious fate of being malled by a yapping fucking poodle and scooped it up with a bucket. so i guess i'll turn him loose in the woods next to the house but i suppose i could keep him as a pet for a little while. pretty fucking ugly though. any you country boys know if you can teach possums tricks and stuff?
