  1. Cash out dividend by buying cliff bar, use cash for a sticky sack. *Nuff said!* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2. The Pinnacles will be great for you and your chick. Leave the gri-gri and adapt her to a reverso. Ask for Neil at the gate, he has the skinny on the 5.6-5.9 ers... One last note, the cave is choice for a romantic interlude mid-week.
  3. strickland agrees, Die Deutsche Madchen sind sehr...
  4. The Gospel according to Ruprechkt (note respect). Hey Buttrudder, are you sure that you are on communicating on the right site? This is a Cascade climbers site, hence the name "Cascade Climbers." So why are you living vicariously on the Cascade climbers site and bragging about dashing up some route in the valley? Is it me or are some people down with climbing somewhere other than Stone Gardens? And Graemlins are cool.... No mattr what kind of SjSu bandwidth they use up?
  5. Buttrudder say's, this is a cascade climbers web site, not some s*@# site to discuss pussy routes in the valley. Reefer to 02/08/02 and feel the disdain that a displaced cascade climber has had to acknowledge... Anynow, there are plenty of scramble routes in the valley. Low key and out of the tourists way are the rewarding scrambles around Hetch Hetchy Valley (The Real Valley). Enjoy... Instant Graemlins....These things are strange to me but quite interesting....This one suiyts me just fine, but it does hound bandwidth..... (Big Scarey ankle turning bolted route)!
  6. Since I have only minimal experience in the cascades (Rainier via headwall, and Jefferson, Or) I am inclined to watch the beta with a disconcerted eye, however, when climbers yap more about drugs, boozing, and yes, bigotry. I wonder if that person is merely going through the motions by pretending to have climbed something (only armed with quick draws), or merely demonstarting a lack of character and skill. Anyhow, since my stocks are in the gutter, shoulder in a sling, panties in a bunch, research overbearing, the only hope for me is a dash up The Widow's Tears (300m, V 5)in Yosemite, or the less daring Castle Crags...
  7. Are you sure that you are on communicating on the right site... This is a climbers site, hence the name "Cascade Climbers," not lets brag about some swag cheeba and bolted Mexican sidewalk route. Try some nice alpine routes that require free thought and a job that does not force you to live vicariously through the acolades of Wil. Take care, and maybe some day you will see what climbing is really all about...
  8. Rich and Rare "in to go" gets my vote also...Cheap, potent enough to curb even the worst approach, and make the most boring campfire story seem as the best experience ever. As for the Nalgene and then use it as a water bottle when it is emptied, sounds like a tease after the "beverage" is all gone... Cheers...
  9. ebay has some pretty nice stuff right now...
  10. You are all a bunch of D-baggers with too much time on your hands... More climbing and less yikkin...
  11. I nominate myself... JoescheppaeQ is the coolest user name...
  12. The best song(s) that make me think of climbing are Kenny Rogers' "Gambler," and Simon and Gar"funk"el's " Me and Julio... Me and julio cause the guitar is fast paced and they are singing about getting away I think, or something
  13. San Jose is a crazy ass college town. it makes people so crazy that they set goals such as completing the tripple crown of backpacking in under a year, yosemite, 3 hours away, college town you say... This place is badass, even got disc golf, a Gordon Biersch, and San Fran is under an hour. Take care...
  14. San Jose is representing with the crazy ass shit. Cop shootings, dudes rollin the tripple crown in under a year, yosemite, 3 hours away, college town you say... This place is badass, even for disc golf.
  15. Is any one interested in a Thanksgiving climb to Mt. Jefferson or Mt. Shasta? Thanks
  16. Glacier Peak... What is the real deal route up that beauty. Secondary request.. Has anyone seen Michael "Schmoked Dawg" Lockey of Alaska Range, and Hatchers Pass fame from the summer of 2000... Thanks for the schnaps... ------------------ I read somewhere that "the mountains reserve their choicest gifts for those who stand upon their summits".
  17. That had Gman written all over ituntil I heard Bud. His ass only drinks ole E deuce E cans... Get well bud, and see ya in Thanksgiving for Shasta... ------------------ I read somewhere that "the mountains reserve their choicest gifts for those who stand upon their summits".
  18. Does anyone have a general discription of Rocky Butte (difficulty, route length, etc...). My bud was just injured there and I wanted to know some general stats... Thanks for any info... ------------------ I read somewhere that "the mountains reserve their choicest gifts for those who stand upon their summits".
  19. I climbed to the end of the world at Delaveaga disc golf course at santa Cruz after a great game... Gordon Biersch Marzen is the best... Castle Rock next weekend to finally do some climbing. Does any one the word for best alpine climbs to do for Thanksgiving??? ------------------ I read somewhere that "the mountains reserve their choicest gifts for those who stand upon their summits".
  20. Hey johnny, Carlolina has Grandfather Mountain and the Tuckaleechee Caverns... not to mention Belle Share in Asheville (Barleys Taproom and the Magic Musgroom paiiza and beer hole). Good luck there, my buddy went to UNCA and I was in U of Maine and took many trips. For the love of a girl a man gave up the great climbing and great beer, and is acccepting good beer and mediocre climbing. God bless ya... quote: Originally posted by johnny: I am moving to North Carolina at the end of this month for an unknown length of time (I had the fortune? of falling in love with an old friend who just happens to live there now and she has two children who cannot leave the state under the current custody situation. OK enough about that.... Does anyone know of any climbers who can show a new guy around out there? I have lived in Washington all my life and only visited NC a few times; enough to know that there is a wealth of rock out there!!! The guidebook situation is pretty grim though, I had no idea how spoiled Becky, and others have made us. I will likely have a month or so before I begin work out there and I want to climb!! I only have two stipulations; no 5.13's and they must like beer. Thanks in advance for the possible partners. ------------------ I read somewhere that "the mountains reserve their choicest gifts for those who stand upon their summits".
