I'm wanting to climb the Harvard route on Huntington and I need more money to make the trip happen. Does anybody out there have info regarding good grants for folks not doing the gnarly first ascents, but still pushing personal limits, or just a good lead on some grants or places to find cash for climbing (besides working, which I'm doing already) in general. thanks Jarred

I have a very simple Integral Designs that I'm wanting to sell, it's in perfect condition, just like brand new, I've used it a few times on snow and it's a great bag, I just don't like using them enought to justify keeping it. It retails for $245 I think, how does $100 even sound? Jarred

Perfect condition bivy bag! I have had this bag for about 2.5 years, don't use it, store it in the gear room hanging, don't think I'm going to use it, have used it only twice, once on Rainier, once on Triple Couloirs. It's waterproof, has one pole at the head, guylines out if desired, color red. Great bag, I just don't like bivies. Retail was something like $280...offer me something reasonable. take care

I'm thinking of buying one of these. I would use it for crag climbing, alpine in conjungtion (sp) with solo moves as well, and also some aid. I can get it for $135 so it's not the full retail investment. Sounds like a great tool, my only concern is the clove hitch the rope ties in with, can the device actually self-feed with that clove in it? If a person makes sporadic moves as is often the case with various climbing moves is it going to lock up and prevent the move, does the climber have to climb quite slowly? Who has used this and what do you all think? Thanks Jarred

Think about doing the complete N Ridge, it's really rewarding, you get a bivy on the ridge, and then you don't have to head back in a bunch of times to finish a route you only did part of the first time. It's really worth the extra effort to do the whole thing. You get a lot more worthwhile climbing. Great alpine experience!

I'm interested. I'll be moving to Hailey Idaho soon and will need a mountain bike. I owuld be willing to trade time or gear, I can get a fair bit of stuff pretty cheap. I don't know how you feel about basalt, but in Twin Falls there is a place called Duerkey's Lake (sp) and it's unlike any other basalt I've ever seen. It's overhung in places, pocketed, much different than the traditional splitter cracks, stair step jugs, or lava pockets at Vantage. I think it's totally worth a look. I will go back many times.

I don't know how new you are but the North Face is a very memorable quality route and isn't all that technical, you should give it some thought.

Yo, I still have a couple of US Airways tickets for sale. I figured out how to transfer them and it's easy. If you want them, you need to make a reservation for a destination (the date can be changed many times for no charge) once you have a reservation, I just go to the airport (SeaTac is the only one the tickets are good for in the PNW) and transfer the tickets to your reservation. So, once you make the res and the tickets are in your name you have one year to use them, plenty of time. The tickets are $325 for the both of them. PM me if you're interested. Obviously the only destinations have to be US Air destinations, mostly east coast venues. But you should check if you're interested. later Jarred

They're in the boots that I actually use. My other laces broke last year so they were an easy replacements. But, glad you like the boots!
