  1. Here are the details for tonight's Ballard drinking festivities. Hattie's Hat5231 Ballard Ave NWSeattle, WA 98107(206) 784-0175 If you need a map try http://maps.yahoo.com/ I'll be there around 6ish.
  2. Let's drink in Ballard this week and figure out a compromise for an location in between Tacoma and Seattle for a future week. I heard Hattie's Hat on Ballard Ave was a hit last time. Any objections? Dwayner - bring the tape we talked about and I'll buy you a beer.
  3. A former climbing partner and I built a small wall (3 4'x 8'plywood sheets) in his living room about 5 years ago. We used a system similar to what Matt described, hinged panels with the top one roped through eyebolts in the exposed beams in the ceiling so we could adjust the overhang. It was really fun to build and use. Although it may have been the beginning of the end for him and his girlfriend. She wasn't too happy about having the wall in the apartment...

Alison Hargraves climbed Everest solo without oxygen from the North side in 1995. I believe that supplies are driven in to the base camp, which is more convenient access for a solo attempt than the Solo Khumbu.
  5. What's the bouncing one running into? A mirror? [ 11-29-2001: Message edited by: ehmmic ]
  6. Sounds like an interesting brew Terminal. If it's a hit at the ice fest, perhaps you can supply cc.com's spring rope up as well.
  7. Dave - Can you bring the Darrington pictures? Thanks.
  8. TNF is actually owned by another clothing magnet called VF Companies (Vanity Faire). They also own upstanding leading fashion brands like Lee jeans...
  9. Ants Marching by Dave Matthews
  10. Hey Jon, you proposed a Seattle pub club this week. Where did you want to drink?

  12. erik- I tried to join too but couldn't see a thing. Must be the corp firewall... oh well...
  13. I go away for a couple of days and you guys come up with some funny stuff. I was feeling let down late last week. Thanks for the laughs!
  14. Cavey - Should we also expect you to hit 2000 posts by Monday? [ 11-21-2001: Message edited by: ehmmic ]

Caveman - You can use the search function to find posts by member #. The winner is verticalturtle.
  17. Eddie - I thought you were going to dance on the table top in a thong and show us some new wrestling moves. See ya'll there. I may be even later since I have to stop by home to get my bikini...
  18. Thanks for organizing tonight's festivities Dave. I can be there around 8.
  19. Lowa Civettas are great boots, and the women's model is good for mid-wide feet. I love to hike in mine, except when I am descending on steep slab but then plastics generally suck for this situation...
  20. I was having that problem too after the board was updated. Chris_w suggested that it might be my corporate firewall and that I should try holding the ctrl key when clicking the refresh button. That cleared it up for me.
  21. Caveman - how was the east side beer rally? Sorry I couldn't make it. I needed to give my eyes a rest after taking in some great mountain movies in Banff over the weekend.
  22. Moving this to the top again... I'll be there about 6:30.
  23. Thanks for checking guys. I found some time to dig deeper into the links from king5 and found this. An AP story from last week about new monitoring on the peak. They must have grown tired of talking about strange white powder and terror warnings... http://www.kgw.com/kgwnews/oregonwash_story.html?StoryID=29625 No new activity, but apparently there's evidence that it is swelling -- about one inch a year.
  24. I saw a news story flash on the tv screen last night when I was out at a pub. No sound, but the graphic and text said something about South Sister having molten lava flowing. Anybody know what they were talking about?
  25. Some of us were also in faux Bavaria this weekend. Instead of trying to take in the last bit of warmth the rocks could offer, we were in search of the freshies! On Sat morning, I headed out with Chris_W to go snow camping and guage my fitness level for snow slogging adventure this winter. Colchuck Lake was a perfect destination. We enjoyed several inches of new snow and the fall colors lower on the trail were spectacular. Sorry we missed you Dwayner. Maybe next time...
