Cluck, I've climbed Little T three times: Winter 1983 (from Paradise); July 1990; and late July 2000. Here are a few pics from my last trip. Camp at Meany crest is superb! Who said the rock on Little T is shitty?? Little t summit and my brother, mtnguy01: Feel free to ask if you need more info/pics! Fairweather

How often are more remote peaks of Olympics visite

DKemp, Norman Clyde, Let's get together and figure it out! Send me a PM. Brian -
I tried to procure some barbed wire, like you suggested, but they said the supplier had run out! I guess you and your commrades recently built a new gulag.

Needle & dental floss, Albuterol, Benadryl, and a small .22 caliber pistol.

...Then I suspect "far left" is the route Iain will take.

I would prefer to be shipped east via railcar and then worked to death. This is the proper way for a capitalist dog like me to die.

I'll go with you Matt! Can I drive the Audi?

....Sexual Chocolate, Nerco, Dr Flash, j_b, and others celebrating this unimportant day. Looks like Tienenman Square was empty today! And Moscow was bustling with the joyous sounds of capitalism. Havana had a good turnout though....everyone who isn't rotting in one of Castro's prisons was bused in for the gala. How did 'yall celebrate? Basement readings?

No avy problems. Just a lot of snow on top. The glissade was just "forming up" but wasn't a bob-sled run yet. There has been some new snow since I was up there, but I doubt it is/was significant.

Trask, You sound bored. Find a hobby. Take a yoga class.... And even if you don't meet any nice ladies...you'll be able to give yourself a blowjob.

I've been looking at a trip to Mount Christie and Dellabarre. Fairly remote. Mount Queets, climbing the Queets Glacier up from Queets Basin is another. Crystal Peak and Chimney Rock west of Mount Anderson are also on the list of "remote places I'd like to go". I need to quit my job. -
Instead of bashing SUV's and their owners, why not take a more unchallengeable position? Stop ragging on SUV's, arguing about size/vehicle classifications/etc, and simply take a position based exclusively on fuel consumption and tailpipe emissions? Just declare, "I believe anyone who drives a vehicle for pleasure/commuting that gets less than xxmpg is raping the planet"....or something along those lines? Just bashing SUV's and their owners accomplishes nothing and sounds like so much class envy.

I once climbed a very big and well know mountain in under 4 hours! Of course I'm not including the short intervals taken for each "rest step".... and time spent taking photos, eating, drinking, sleeping, urinating, enjoying the view, etc. When I added those minutes to the time actually spent moving uphill I guess the climb took about... two days.

Hold the fuck up and stop the press. Aren't you the very wankstain that bitched and bitched about how stupid SUVs were and how those driving them had 2" cocks? At what point does a car stop being a car and become an SUV? I'd reckon that a Forrester is pretty fucking close. It's a lot bigger than most fucking cars which is what you whined about for fucking umpteen pages and at one point threatened to sue me should I crash into you. You're so fucking hypocritical! You can claim it's a car or a fucking crossover but it's semantics. It's classified as a Small Sports Utility Vehicle compared to vehicles such as the Ford Escape, Jeep Wrangler, and Rav4. Fuck off you wanker!!! JGowans, This is one of the most idiotic posts I've ever read. Some quick research will show that the Subaru WRX wagon gets 19/26mpg with automatic trans. The Forrester, which you decry as an evil SUV gets...21/26mpg! Additionally, the Toyota Rav4 gets 32mpg (hwy)!! So let me see if I have this right by you: 1)SUV's and their owners sre stupid/arrogant because they drive gas hog vehicles. 2) Ursa is a "sellout" and a "hypocrite" because he is looking at a Subaru Forrester, which you deem to be an SUV. The WRX and the Forrester get the same gas milage you moron! And the Rav4 does even better!! The only conclusion I can draw here is that you are blinded by an emotional bias against SUV's. You seem unwilling to consider the facts before you spout off.

I'm not saying population growth is a good thing, but what do you base the statement, "advances in food production capacity are limited" upon? From all I've read food distriution is the real problem. I find it ironic that advances in GM food production are slammed by the same folks who deem themselves as "compassionate". The real statement should be "if we feed them, will more come?" Do we multiply human suffering down the road, by simply "feeding" peoples rather than granting them the means/science/capacity to feed themselves into the future? It is hard for anyone to approach this subject without a degree of callousness. More and more people is not a good thing, but talk/wishing for a plague to deplete the human race is disgusting.

I took the kid up on a Mt Ellinor conditioner this morning. You can drive to within 5 minutes walk of the upper trailhead. The wooded ridge trail is bare until you reach the switchbacks, then snow. I would say that there is much more snow than usual in the chute and on top for this time of year. Still a good sized cornice and the top is 100% snow. New snow on all of the trees up higher, but melting fast today. Good boot path the whole way, no skis or snowshoes necessary.

So you could never climb Rainier, Adams, Stuart, Dragontail, Baker, Challenger again. But then again, the Green Book is the thickest...and has the most 9000'ers.
-
If, for the remainder of your useful days here on Earth, you were forced to choose only one of Fred Beckey's three "Cascade Alpine Guide" books/territories in which to climb, which would it be? Red Book: Fraser Riv to Rainy Pass Green Book: Rainy Pass to Stevens Pass Brown Book: Stevens Pass to Columbia River

no more climbing related lawsuits in washington!
Fairweather replied to erik's topic in Access Issues
We should police our own. Any (so called) fellow climber who files a lawsuit against a property owner should be made to... "disappear" for good. It is zee only way. Sieg Heil. -
That would be my wife. She and my daughter are the same way. They are completely unable to distill a series of events to the essential and tell a story. They get mad when my attention wanders. That's the one! She can take up to half an hour to describe an event that originally took only a few seconds to transpire. Once, while listening to her ramblings and attempting to watch the TV at the same time, I raised the remote control and pointed it at her face while desperately and repeatedly pressing the "mute" button. ....I slept on the sofa that night.
