Elitists are usually wealthy or well educated--or both. You strike me as neither.
-
by your own admission, the whole establishment is practically in big business' pocket, and has been for damn near a century - i don't see how it can get much worse. institutionalizing corruption is a lot worse than having to give the appearance of propriety. No different than an evangelical tool. (except he's reading from a different book...)

Like all those rednecks in Massachusetts, eh "professor"?

An old idea, promoted by one of j_b's idols: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Bernard_Shaw#Support_for_eugenics "You must all know half a dozen people at least who are no use in this world, who are more trouble than they are worth. Just put them there and say Sir, or Madam, now will you be kind enough to justify your existence? If you can’t justify your existence, if you’re not pulling your weight in the social boat, if you’re not producing as much as you consume or perhaps a little more, then, clearly, we cannot use the organizations of our society for the purpose of keeping you alive, because your life does not benefit us and it can’t be of very much use to yourself. [68]" "...He wrote that "the only fundamental and possible Socialism is the socialization of the selective breeding of Man";[69] personal incomes were to be made equal, thus allowing the selection of partners "without consideration of rank or wealth".[70] At a meeting of the Eugenics Education Society of 3 March 1910 he warned of the need to use a "lethal chamber" to solve the problem. Shaw said: "We should find ourselves committed to killing a great many people whom we now leave living, and to leave living a great many people whom we at present kill. We should have to get rid of all ideas about capital punishment."

LOL, I don't recall seeing those before! Rob's location is "with FW's wife" while Proles is "Arguing w/ A Dining Room Table" and Bob's is "in the gutter". Yeah, it's just kind of a joke. Actually, I wouldn't touch her, on account of her herpes. I know they're not as warm and fuzzy as TTK, but you should give 'em a try: http://www.meetthaigirls.com/

Like I said before: I'm undecided. Different thread.
-
When you're done knobbin' GGK, you might want to read up: Main Entry: orig·i·nal·i·ty Pronunciation: \ə-ˌri-jə-ˈna-lə-tē\ Function: noun Date: 1742 1 : the quality or state of being original 2 : freshness of aspect, design, or style 3 : the power of independent thought or constructive imagination

Wrong 'bout that, Bill. They've been singing his praises here for some time now.
-
Just don't ask him where his went. (It's kind of embarrassing.)
-
100 replies is the standard. Try a more provocative thread title next time. "Avatar: George Bush's Evil Legacy Thwarted on Pandora" or "Avatar: Marxian Concepts Overcome Interstellar Capitalism"
-
Here's a simpleton's version for you, since it's likely that you had never heard of this concept before yesterday. Leave it to TTK to turn a tongue-in-cheek critique of a sci-fi movie into a quest for ego gratification. http://lasp.colorado.edu/education/outerplanets/solsys_planets.php As for your chart, well, there is an explanation that isn't quite settled. Let's see if you can figure it out on your own--if you're not too busy with those ridiculous light bulb sculptures.

As usual, it's evident you didn't read the story. BBC even! (Sorry, I looked for something on Huffingandpuffington post but they didn't have anything negative to say about Commandante Chavez.)
-
You seem to be speaking from experience. But in your case, I believe an hourly dose Prozac and some Dexatrim should manage the ailments you have demonstrated in words and pictures here.
-
It seems TTK can't even manage one! Better not let him see that issue.
-
Sorry Prole--it still doesn't work. You really want to try this here? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8464960.stm "Price checking is done by the military in Venezuelan supermarkets nowadays"

I don't see it. The frost line for type M stars (much of your list) is very close in, so it shouldn't be surprising that the tight orbits of large exo-planets (presumably gas giants) around red dwarfs is physically allowed. Unless the models have changed or been discredited by direct observation (which is certainly possible) since I took a course on stellar evolution about 3 years ago, I think we're talking past each other here. Just when I start to believe it might be possible to have a civil conversation you go and say something dumb. Too bad.

I have been awarded medals for my bravery.

On the other hand, Inglorious Basterds was a magnificent recreation of actual historic events exactly as they happened and I thought it was an incredible cinematic experience. Quentin truly outdid himself.
-
Yeah, that totally blew the plausibility for me too. The opening scene spaceship's control console clearly indicated that the gas giant was well within the frost line DUH. JAMES CAMERON DOES NOT FUCK AROUND!!!!!!! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND GAS GIANTS DON'T ORBIT MAIN SEQUENCE STARS INSIDE THE FROST LINE THEIR HYDROGEN COMPOUNDS ARE BLOWN OUT INTO SPACE JAMES CAMERON IS THE SAME MUTHERFUCKER WHO FORCED ME TO SIT THROUGH 3 HOURS OF KATE WINSLETT AND LEONARDS DECAPRICO!!! FUCK AVATAR AND LIKE THOSE ISLANDS COULD REALLY DEFY GRAVITY I MEAN WHAT WAS UP WITH THAT WAS IT EM, STRONG FORCE, WEAK FORCE OR WHAT HE NEVER FUCKING EXPLAINS IT EXCEPT IT IS SOME MYTHICAL VORTEX GIMME A FUCKING BREAK AND THIS IS THE 23RD CENTURY AREN'T THEY SUPPOSED TO BE USING LAZER BEAMS AND SHIT THEY'RE STILL USING BULLETS FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!
-
O'Connor was--with the libs voting for the majority! Nope, you were right. It was Kennedy--siding with the libs against the common man.
-
A moon with exposed liquid water would not be found orbiting a gas giant beyond the frost line. I mean, geeeez, come on. This was almost as bad as Apocalypto's solar eclipse followed later in the evening by a full moon!
-
Inglorious Basterds was the best movie of the decade.

I thought that after 500 years of human heartache we had achieved a pretty good balance--before the Kelo ruling came along.
