  7. O.K. RURP: I'm not sure if this is him, but it will have to do for the moment. "We need three more cases of Mountain House Turkey Tetrazzini sent up from A.B.C. The boys up at Camp 4 are pissed off because the care-packages we snuck in their packs contained multiple copies of the "Best of K.D. Lang" C.D.'s. It was supposed to be funny but no one is laughing. Some wise-acre short-sheeted my sleeping bag and there's a dead yak blocking the exit to my tent. Sometimes it ain't easy being Big Lou on the Big Hill!"

  18. Brother GregW. say: "What did you do, take a poll among you multiple personalities? I liked your monk-like vow of silence; maybe you can take up self-flagellation next time." Thank you, sir! To answer your question: Yes! Glad you liked the vow of silence...try it sometime for a while. Actually, I think the "stylite" lifestyle is where it's at. Check out this jerk: Pole Stander ahoy! - Dwayner
  19. The last telegram pretty much summed up the numerous E-mails, letters, phone messages and Monday night's candle vigil: "Dwayner...come back...you have so much of the Big Lou spirit within you....share, Dwayner, share..." It's all been very touching...the carabiners with yellow ribbons on them clipped to tree branches in front of my house, the sweaty sports bras flung onto the lawn with provocative alpine messages inscribed, and yes, even the money which I refuse to keep. (I have donated the funds to a Sport Climbers' Deprogramming and Treatment Center and I'm auctioning the sport bras on EBAY, but I'm keeping the 'biners as booty.) I've "mended my fences" with Petey Puget..(ain't that right, Petey!) and it seems that we're constantly on the phone swapping tasty recipes, chatting about the latest in Verve and Prana fashions ["Do you think my butts too big?", etc.], and loads of lunch gossip about who's doing what at the crags! Well here's a couple of treats for you all! Some Candid Pics from the Camp Muir Bunk House! And some snaps from last months solo of: Willis Wall, Central Rib -Dwayner

    Dwayner Lurketh!!

Doh! Busted! Are you sure it wasn't my pal Petey Puget? I thinks we worked out our issues, ain't that right, Petey! Dang!!!..sun coming in through the windows...and I can hear the scratchy high-pitched voices of six tormented big-mouthed little green bottles of Mickey's calling from the kitchen refrigerator, welcoming me to breakfast and a brand new day. Back to lurking.
  21. Peter Puget and I have had some very nasty exchanges of late and interestingly (and surprisingly)we reached very similar conclusions independently which we shared with each other early this morning. Speaking for myself, I am finding that this site does not regularly bring out the best in me (except for occasional attempts at humor) and has actually encouraged me to engage in atypical negative behavior. I don't enjoy trading insults and it's easy to be seduced into that sort of thing, especially with "avatars" and the ambiguity of other's intention as perceived (or more often, misperceived) by the written word. There are times when one has to seriously weigh the pro's and con's of one's various life activities...cc.com has some real potential and indeed has many positive aspects to it, but I've had enough for a while. Sadly, Peter, too, seems to have had enough for apparently similar reasons. He was a fine sparring partner but I can certainly relate: I'm not interested in sparring any more either; it takes way too much positive energy away from my life. I'll likely remain a "lurker" here at best. So Peter...touché! And I'll give you a big handshake sometime. - Don "Dwayner" (And thanks to the many fine people I have encountered here.) 25. And who could possibly forget ChrisW and ChucK...two great guys whose names I shouldn't have forgotten. Last time I saw them, they were giving Keanu a sound beating in an alley while Molly stood by clapping. I bet they had an exotic evening!
