Isn't there lots of free climbing on the Salathe? Lots of wide cracks and shit. If you want to do a straight aid line and haven't done one on El Cap yet I'd reccomend Zodiac. Fun, straight forward, and relatively short.

I just find that the route setters try to pack as much hard climbing as possible into the short area. So you get weird akward starts that are pretty dumb.

I see that in boulder prob's as well, but I was referring to lead climbs. But when you're leading in the gym there's frequently a good chance of cratering b /c the routes are short and not established intelligently.

The alternative is to boulder and toprope.
