  1. Ah the main similarity between the “Alpine Buddy of the Week” and Climber of the Month (this is the second month actually - So Cal climber Rick Accomazo was the first. Go check out his thread and read the interview!) is that both threads are “being hijacked and turned to crap by the local smart-asses” PP
  2. Strike 4 - He'd be a great Mod for the NEW ROCK CLIMBING FORUM!
  3. It does but the other way must be simpler. When I started this thread I thought that the cliff was east of the Annette trail. Minx - go check it out!
  4. Actually Minx I mean to suggest now after more thought that the approach is probably not best via Annette. For some reason I was not remembering that the Annette trail was there. Here is how I made the approach (years ago see disclaimer further in thread) Follow well groomed road there are two old logging roads branching off to the left. Tale either one they are both locked. Walk or ride till you reach the forest. Now head up. This area is riddled with mini mines. Sadly a section of Devils Club remains as a barrier to the cliffs. This might have changed over the years but a trail could be hacked if the old one is gone. PP
  5. I had planned on putting mor einfo on Pete in the post but lost track of time. The Superpin climb (11d R) was I believe not preinspected and an amazing feat. Read Touch The Sky for more details. TTS is the Piana guide to the Needle and on another thread was claimed to be one of the best guidebooks ever. PP
  6. Back arouind 86-87 I checked out the large overhanging section of rock on the SE part of Denny Mountain. It might have some spectacular sport routes but since that isnt my thing I never went back. It is easy to check out and the slab below the roof is and easy scramble so if you are interested.... PP
  7. You are correct about Denny being on the North. I do not have a good map available right now but looking at topo zone quickly it appears to be on humpback mountain and that the other side is the Annette lake trail. Seeing that means that the way to go is the way I went. The rock is a bunch of slabs on the left side of a bowl. PP

    Coincidence?

Sodomy becomes legal in SC. Same day Strom dies. PP
  9. Sounds good to me. Why would I laugh? SO did you clean it up a bit? I bet it was hot out there. What's the Index stigma? PP
  10. Just in the nick of time comes Mr. Pete Cleveland. I think he is a Phd and MD and a super climber. Check these stats out: 5.11 in 1965, 5.11d R in 1967, 5.12d TR in 1969, 5.13b in 1977. PP Note: Pic is from http://www.geocities.com/pipeline/4055/PCleveland.JPG
  11. Great! what was it? PP
  12. Timmy - Truth in advertising! Eerie - Thanks for the info. On the approach did you go by an old tower?
  13. Thanks. Spent a rainy day looking for the place got close but didn’t quite find it. I heard that there were several very overhanging almost roof-like routes there. DId you see those? PP
  14. The only way the Canadians can reduce their unit costs is to increase production, which would lower the market price. There's no reason to do that, since, before the tariffs, they were already out-pricing the US (selling below cost? maybe just to keep US competition at bay) and probably making their money in other markets. Now that the tariffs are in place, they increase production, flooding the market, because they'd rather see the glut eventually bring the price lower than pay extra duties to the US. Hmm... dunno if that makes sense. Not buying it.
  15. Josh - what have you heard about parking?
  16. Routes aren't so bad at all. Some cliffs you can even climb in the rain! Get there early if I remember correctly parking can be a problem. PP
  17. I heard a couple of routes there are fun - spill the beans! PP
  18. Zipper is Upper Town Wall and would proably be shady late in the day. Pressure Drop is in a small rock on the approach. PP
  19. TLG –My ego is fragile. I hope that “thumbs down” wasn’t directed at my picture! PP
  20. contest
  21. Cool if you are going out I am guessing you must be close to finishing up the new rock climbing forum.
  22. Three day weekend. Where's everyone going? Maybe some sort of crowd avoidance strategy will be needed. PP
