Important Info for Snoqualmie Summit Pass Holders
thelawgoddess replied to BreezyD's topic in Climber's Board
i'm pretty impressed by dan brewster's letter. he's not my favorite guy in the world, but props to snoqualmie for what they're doing for their season passholders. -
combine flights in to Waddington Range?
thelawgoddess replied to pete_a's topic in Climbing Partners
pete_a, are you sure your weight estimates are okay? we had four people going in from whitesaddle last may for a week of skiing and had to make two flights. granted, 3 of them were fairly big guys ... but they weren't huge by any means. -
canon has a great reputation for picture quality and camera design. i pretty much only looked at canons. (made my life a little easier with all the choices out there!)
-
thanks, trundle. i think we might be using them!

i've had no problems snapping pics via my s410 with ski gloves ...

$9.99 on amazon's friday sale ...
-
that's the problem. you start watching it and get all hooked on the sweet climbing porn and then - WTF??? - someone's driving around in a lexus. makes no freaking sense and really doesn't make me want to buy a lexus.
-
after much hemming and hawing i ended up getting the canon s410. it's pretty damned small so i have little excuse not to have it with me. i've been pretty happy with the picture quality, although i think the picture-taker could use some training. another review site: http://www.steves-digicams.com/

the problem is ... we don't know what the problem is! it can't be put into reverse. at all. probably need a new tranny. just want to make sure it needs a new tranny before we go through all that trouble.

Skiing in Utah or Southwest Colorado
thelawgoddess replied to cicleclimb's topic in the *freshiezone*
i have friends who are skiing regularly in the slc/park city area. one of them has been touring recently. just depends what you're looking for ... might be worth checking out a couple places if you've never been. -
there are tons of classics out there - in ouray, silverton, and telluride. there should be no shortage of great ice for you to climb. hey, kailas and swaterfall - i miss you guys! climb something for me, would ya?

looking for recommendations for a mechanic who can diagnose a f'ed up transmission in a 1991 jeep cherokee. just about anywhere from seattle to monroe will do. thanks!

i'm a huge proponent of the reverso. i led several multi-pitch climbs with two seconds two summers ago and it was a godsend. i agree with most of what jason said, but i think that a few of his points could be managed a little differently on a case-by-case basis. for example, on two big [easy] classic climbs in yos i had one really slow climber who was new to multi-pitch climbing and not very experienced and one much faster balls-out more experienced climber. if i had put the fast climber below he would have either attempted to climb past the slower one or would have pressure him to go faster. i had him go first and clean the gear and let the third climb leisurely at his comfort level. this worked exceptionally well for all of us. (luckily the 2nd never dropped any gear on the 3rd!)

send swaterfall a pm. he and kailas would be able to give you first-hand beta on current conditions.
-
i've always wanted to learn how to fly. helicopters especially. :-) let us know what you find out, would ya?
-
red rocks ... i've heard good things about that place. are people really carpooling down there from seattle?
-
feel free to skip some bolts to make the route more sporting. ;-) definitely a fun one!

i have the t-1's and i love them. i come from an alpine skiing background, though, and i can't imagine something with less support being as good. but then again, i'm not a very good teleskier. i wish all of my other ski boots were as comfy as my t-1's, though!

i guess i should have asked more questions in my original email ... so, rumr, what did you think? did you enjoy it? would you recommend it? please feel free to add additional commentary ...

speaking of best places to eat, has anyone ever eaten at the herbfarm in woodinville?

definitely wasn't sold out. you'll probably never be able to see mix play for that cheap again ... unless you happen to be at some house party that's hosting him. hope you made it! it was fun!!! saw one other cc.com'er there. (sorry i wasn't more talktative when you said hi; i was a little out of it at the time!)
