so, what you're saying is ... i should get more in touch with my non-sexual masochistic side? i agree that it is an often "irrational" fear, but *realistically* how does one get over it? you're right that relatively speaking i didn't get *that* hurt - no missing limbs, broken bones or stitches anyway. it took me over a year before i got my ear pierced again just because i knew it would hurt!

well, there's my problem(s). i definitely need to work on my weaknesses. do you have any suggestions for getting over one's fear of falling on lead, though? the only two times i took falls on lead i got pretty hurt and i know it's holding me back big time.

the way i do it is: copy the stuff you want to quote (highlight it and push Ctrl and V on most PC's), reply, under the "Instant UBB Code" options pick "Quote" then paste (Ctrl and P) the stuff you copied. not sure if there's an easier way to do it - haven't really spent time trying to find out.

i think many of the hardcore people are already out there. i know rumr was planning to climb today and tomorrow. i'll be there tomorrow and sunday. hopefully i'll see somebody i know somewhere! i think you'll find that in general cascade climbers are a friendly bunch of people who have a "the more the merrier" philosophy. worst case, you could stand by the fee machine around 9am holding a sign that says "new kid; have hc will climb" ... or something to that effect.
