  1. i'm the sucker. thanks. and 't was fun ... though maybe not fun enough if you can still remember it, eh? (j/k!)
  2. i'm with sk. i need to see it to believe it.

  4. can u wall be rapped off of? i have someone asking if there's an alternate way off of u wall aside from exiting via the roman chimneys? (in light of the falcon-related limitations ...)

  6. i [almost] ALWAYS wear a thong when i climb!
  7. just curious - you seem to recommending *against* making it more than a one-day adventure ... am i right?
  8. Just wondering if anybody else here is planning to go and might want to carpool, hook up for some climbing exploration in the area, ...
  9. geez ... just walk that extra 1/4-mile already!
  10. me, too!!! wish i could, i mean. unfortunately some of us have to "work" ... not that i'm complaining about having a job ... or where i work - of course.
  11. bored office workers??? i thought we were all hardcore climbers here! oh, wait; i forget who we're talking about. btw, that rock is too dirty, that other rock is too chossy, and that other other rock is too ugly. give me some nice clean beautiful granite!!!
  12. nice work! (the fear factor will likely always be part of it, but what's important is whether you're having fun. hope you were!!!)

  14. if i have to die somewhere, i guess there could be worse places.
  15. hey "dope", ALWAYS [wash your hands and] use lotion after climbing. i climb at the gym about 3 times a week (sometimes more) AND go outside when i can, so i end up using quite a bit of chalk. i've actually had to upgrade from just using lotion, and now i use "bag balm" ... and often times more than once/day. and i still use lotion, too; just not all at once. chalk REALLY dries out your skin, but even if you don't use chalk your skin likely still needs the help that lotions and ointments can give it. for some reason, scraping your fingers across rocks all day isn't all that great for your skin!

  17. just curious if any of you have gone in through esmerelda basin to the pass that overlooks lake ann and gone over to ingalls from there?
  18. quote: Originally posted by Highlander: My partner just bailed on a climb on Forbidden Peak that sucks! hope you get to do some climbing anyway ...
  19. quote: Originally posted by headmasterjon: [...] Link up all three (East, North, and South Ingalls) Peter Croft style (in fact this is the original ridge traverse that started his ridge fix!) [...] You should be able to downclimb [...] ooh, you don't know how much i DETEST downclimbing!!! but thanks, everyone, for the suggestions and whatnot. i'm definitely going to consider going croft-style. i'm pretty psyched for my impending adventure!
  20. whoa; another person who climbs and also has sunday/monday off??? check your pm's ...
  21. thanks! also ... how's the snow? for the descent, should i bring a rope to rappel out? about how long of a drive is it from seattle? where might i camp if i drive down the night before? what can/"should" i do the next day if i'm not ready to go home yet? thanks again!
  22. looking for current beta, and "hints" for making it a solo event.
  23. quote: Originally posted by Dennis Harmon: No, but a long time ago in a land far, far away I did have a girlfriend with the longest most beautiful hair [...] needless to say, her hair got tangled in the carabiner-abseil system and it wasn't pretty. i did that this weekend - oops! it really sort of sucked, but luckily i was able to unweight the device and reverse myself up the rope far enough to get my hair back and avoid having a huge clump of locks that was a few inches shorter than the rest. you can bet i'm gonna watch out for that one next time!
