i LOVE dogs. i love all kinds of animals. but if people are complaining about your dog, it is obviously a "problem" to them. think of the many people who are annoyed and NOT complaining!
any dog that barks a lot is annoying. and a hyper dog that isn't somehow under your control is not only inappropriate but downright rude. it is dogs like these (and the owners who can't keep them under control) that give dogs at the crags in general a bad name. i've met some really cool dogs at crags - they sit quiety by their owners and chill out, minding their own business and staying out of the way. but i've also seen a lot of "unruly" dogs, walking through people's gear, roughing it up with other dogs right near belay stations, etc. i don't think it's cute or funny. and i love dogs. but there are plenty who don't.
just have some consideration for those around you ... and for the areas you are using.
