Camp Hazard is deadly. Don't camp there! hgb
-
The plant would be only 9 miles from the park, towards Madras. This proposal is not dead. In fact, a second company has started making proposals for a power plant in Redmond. Its good that the Access Fund knows about the issue, but I am not sure yet what they are doing (I am going to find out). Also, there is going to be a meeting on the issue at Smith in April, so I will try to post the date of that meeting. Finally, I have a feeling that it would help the Stop Congentrix organization to receive some donations. So, be thinking about what kind of fundraiser we can do. Maybe I will get with the people who work on Spring Thing and see if we can do some sort of fundraiser then. This could really be huge...do you want to be on the backside staring at the mountains and the plume from the factory? I prefer just the mountains myself. If you want a copy of the packet of letters that all ready for you to modify and add your name, email me. While some are most appropriate for Oregon residents (i.e. letters to legislators) there are plenty of agencies that frequent out of state users can write to in good conscience. ask for the letters from me at hollyclimber@hotmail.com

ok. I guess I should have looked harder for the topic. it must be my destiny to go to pub club this week. Rodeo...yeah I guess I have no idea what day it is... See you all there tomorrow. hgb

Is there a pub club plan? How about Alki Tavern for Wimpy Burgers. 75 cents for burgers and good beer usually on tap. It would be great to see some people that I haven't seen in awhile...Jules, Beck, Alisdair, Dwayner... Who is up for it? Holly

hmm,me flirting with Cavey?obviously you just don't know me, and that's fine. After all, you are just a lurker with nothing climbing related ever posted to this site (I checked) Are you even a climber? hgb
-
hikerwa sorry I have been remiss on the pub club. I have been so busy with this house thing I haven't been to one in quite awhile. Anyway, I love WIMPY burgers at Alki, so I am all for that. hgb

Whatever Cody. Just because you wish you too were pals with Cavey you don't have to respond in such an immature manner. I know you want him to be your roommate, but unfortunately there is a waiting list. I have a feeling you won't be high on it. hgb

Female climber/occasionally cc.com sprayer looking for a roommate for my new house in W. Seattle. Average sized room on second floor with really big closet. Shared gear room. Very close to the buslines and a fast commute downtown or to I-90 from W. Seattle (not the long commute from Fauntleroy or farther out). Must LOVE big dogs (Greater Swiss Mountain Dog-Dagen). Rent is $550/month + 1/2 utilities. I wanted Cavey to be my new roommate, but he said no. So, if it can't be Cavey, I am hoping for a fellow climber. Hollyhollyclimber@hotmail.com

I can't believe we have to constantly address this crap. Here is the situation:This site is not set up to be nice to people (I don't know if Alex complained about that, but it is a normal complaint) This site is not to provide a supportive and loving environment for the purpose of making sure that all people want to post here (that's for Matt, since that was his complaint a month ago or so) And, this site is full of stupid spray. In the spray section and elsewhere. If you don't like it, don't read it. We are here for entertainment value and because we like the site the way it is. If we stopped the spray, most people's favorite posters would stop posting. So, I suggest that Alex join on in and start spraying. Then he might figure out how fun it is. Just have to say something. Why is it that people think they should get to change this place? Holly (and Dagen...so there Z)

Its true. Call them at (800) 671-5323. I just bought an "Onsight"- duel color 9.9mm 60 meter dry rope for $106.90 including shipping. As they are shipping from Utah there was no sales tax. Thanks for the tip Darren. I needed a new rope and that was the right price. Duel color rocks, but it can be expensive. hgb

Mine is a 9.9 60 meter dual color dry rope. It seems fine to me, but I don't know the stats. I do know that it was purchased for me as a gift for close to $200 at Marmot in Bellevue.

TTT- Was this the accident that Lisa Petrie's husband died in? She was my co-worker, and I remember it was a bad thing when they stopped searching and the families then had to take up the search on their own. Holly

Sounds like a lot of people will be trying to climb at Smith. I don't know some of you, so if you see me with my big black white and tan dog and his new red backpack, say hi. We are hard to miss usually. He is big and loud, and I am smaller but also loud. who knows where we will be...basically everywhere, maybe even the marsupials at some point. See you there. holly and dagen

climb at Smith....Thanksgiving Dinner at Redmond Sharis...all are welcome to join us. holly

OH Cavey...that cuts straight to the heart you know!I'll try not to take it too personally. After all, if you hadn't flailed on Traffic Light or Overly Board (whichever it was) the weekend you met Ron Kauk at Smith, maybe you would like it better. Can't wait to see you at the pub club tonight so that you can tell me you are sorry for slamming my favorite winter crag.
-
Cavey...I only want to climb with you...what is this other nonsense. Charlie...I have no idea what you yell... Lambone...if I see you I'll tell you about it, because it was fun. I was just throwing out some crap that only a few people who read this board would know about, because they were there when it happened...when the voice from God called to us on the wall. Its not really that cryptic. hgb

CLIMBERS ON EL CAPITAN, TURN OUT YOUR LIGHTS...ARE YOU ON MESCALITO?ARE YOU ON PITCH 20?ARE YOU ON PITCH 21?............DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISHDO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH AS YOUR FIRST LANGUAGE?DO YOU SPEAK SPANISH AS YOUR FIRST LANGUAGE... And, to those of you (and you know who you are) who DO know what I am talking about, send me an email, because folks like you are the folks I want to be talking to. (I know...I'm weird...but Charlie... I am NO SANDBAGGER!) holly

Hey, I didn't ASK for it. I asked everyone if we wanted it. And, that was a fun discussion. I am proud to have the same rating as Cavey. I must have some enemies. hgb

I thought the idea was to drink a lot of tequila first, and then go climbing. That way, if you are not using your best crack technique, or if the crack is just tearing into you, you won't feel any pain and you send.
