You just farted didn't you, Gary, you sick bastard. Dechristo, you've been on a roll lately. I dug your bipartisan green pork comment too. Anyway, offtopic, but do other people besides me prefer to edit and give feedback on paper and ask for printouts in double-space? I haven't grown to like the PDF embedded comments stuff. No dude, Microsoft has wasted years of poor bastards like my life creating markup features that acctually work quite well. Get with the century. Your killing trees.

Chemistry is the goal. There is nothing like poluting young minds with the knowlege they need to blow shit up in more interesting ways.

I think too many people use this excuse to stay in a job they hate. I dont know what I am going to do, but its not this anymore. Teaching probably. So far the only jobs I have really enjoyed have been teaching jobs. Although working at the Plaid Pantry pays more than teaching, it is not nearly as rewarding... You know that you can work as an adjunct teacher/professor/instructor at a number of educational institutions. I do that occasionally (teach evening classes so I keep my "real" job) for fun. It is very satisfying, and it tends to reignite the passion you have about the subject you are teaching. For me, teaching is a great hobby. And, it gives me HUGE respect for real teachers. Yea, but I came to a realization I will have a paycut a year ago, and luck would have it that I think I could absorb the pay cut. It will hurt real bad, but I dont think I will have to sell the house. I just need a bit more inflation and then my mortgage wont seem that bad.

I am beginning to wonder if when I leave this job should I burn all my bridges so that I am forced never to return to computer work again? Computer related work is like crack. You quit again and again and you just keep going back. I need to do something drastic this time.

No! No way! If you have not been up there before I recomend you bring with you at least a minus 20, and if you are going early May then a minus 40. I have now done two trips to that area, and on one trip I would have been fine with a 0 degree on the other I would have died (not just been cold, but been dead!). Also, being cold sucks. A significant number of people go home from that area early because they are simply too cold, so dont ruin your trip because you are cheap, or want to save weight on your sleeping bag.

I will have to dig them up from the bowels of my home computer. It will be late tonight. I was just thinking that if there really was a heaven and the whole gate thing is right, I cant wait till they ask me the question about booting jesus out of the way in order to place mary in a compromising position.

Anyone who is on this site today, who is not at work need to take a look at their priorities.

Your kidding right? With highs in the 40s all week, and lows in the mid thirties go right ahead and make the drive. I personally would choose not to waste the gas and do something else instead.

Last year we spend most of christmas getting drunk in my living room. By about 9pm we were getting a little restless so we all went for a walk around the neighborhood. We found a really obnoxious lighted nativity scene with Joeseph holding his hands above Jesus and Mary on her knees on the other side. We all knew what had to be done. So we got jesus out of the way and unplugged his lights and moved Mary and Joeseph a little closer together to create a much more heartwarming scene. I will now make this a christmas tradition. I have some pictures I will post later.

Yea pay special attention to Item #1 on that web page. "Choose a flexible schedule and when the weather breaks, go for it. Because of the fickle winter weather, scheduling a climb of Rainier to coincide with decent conditions is the major challenge. I suggest a fluid approach to scheduling the climb. Historically, every year from late January through mid-February, a high-pressure ridge builds across the region, thwarting the usual marine frontal systems. Gather your climbing companions and choose a ñweather windowî several weeks long. Alert employers (or employees) well ahead of time that you will need to take off suddenly, and then keep an eye on the weather. When the forecast looks great, sunny for 3 or 4 days in a row, go for it. " Chances are that the weather will suck on 19-22 of Jan. And if the weather does not suck then the avalanche conditons will be high. You thread title should be "Join for Rainier climb sometime in Jan-Feb. ?
