Issaquah

Oh and in addition, has anyone take a crowbar to the big block on the route on the left? The one that has the crack with the bomber tool hooks. If not then it might just be a good idea before that thing blows and ruins a dry tool night.
-
No I did not replace it. That crack should not have a pin in it at all. Any pin placed in that crack will rust out in a very short period of time due to constant moisture

Just because the weather is good does not mean the snows good. Even if this weather cycle ended today, I would not feel comfortable on any of the trade routes in the enchantments for a couple more weeks. Or a few days of very warm weather followed by a freeze. If it stays cold like it is forcast to then snow conditions wont change much and the peeps will all get washed down the TCs and N face of dragontail while the wee peeps are getting flushed out of the NBC on colchuck. It might be worth setting up camp making some tea and watching the fireworks from the lake though.

Went up the the dry tool area in Issaquah today. It was pretty fun, and we did not get rained on. Also, I removed the fixed pin on the left route. It was getting a bit manky.

the guidebook say 5ºC to 8ºC. i suspect that difference is true when "normal" winter weather is in effect, and considerably less when the big warm fronts overwhelm the whole area. right now [6pm Friday], Lillooet shows 2ºC, Cache Ck 5ºC, and Clinton (which i usually reckon is closer to Marble Canyon conditions because of altitude and interior position) is 0ºC. not exactly the best ice-making weather. and you can believe what oldgoat says... cheers, don Thanks don, God this sucks.

Dude? Updates? There is lots of snow. There is lots and lots of snow. What exactly do you want to know?
-
So how much colder in general is it up at Marble canyon that in Lillooette?

You just farted didn't you, Gary, you sick bastard. Dechristo, you've been on a roll lately. I dug your bipartisan green pork comment too. Anyway, offtopic, but do other people besides me prefer to edit and give feedback on paper and ask for printouts in double-space? I haven't grown to like the PDF embedded comments stuff. No dude, Microsoft has wasted years of poor bastards like my life creating markup features that acctually work quite well. Get with the century. Your killing trees.

Chemistry is the goal. There is nothing like poluting young minds with the knowlege they need to blow shit up in more interesting ways.

I think too many people use this excuse to stay in a job they hate. I dont know what I am going to do, but its not this anymore. Teaching probably. So far the only jobs I have really enjoyed have been teaching jobs. Although working at the Plaid Pantry pays more than teaching, it is not nearly as rewarding... You know that you can work as an adjunct teacher/professor/instructor at a number of educational institutions. I do that occasionally (teach evening classes so I keep my "real" job) for fun. It is very satisfying, and it tends to reignite the passion you have about the subject you are teaching. For me, teaching is a great hobby. And, it gives me HUGE respect for real teachers. Yea, but I came to a realization I will have a paycut a year ago, and luck would have it that I think I could absorb the pay cut. It will hurt real bad, but I dont think I will have to sell the house. I just need a bit more inflation and then my mortgage wont seem that bad.

Nerd humor... I used to find this mildly funny, now I find it pathetic and wastefull. Just another sign that I hate corprate america.

I am beginning to wonder if when I leave this job should I burn all my bridges so that I am forced never to return to computer work again? Computer related work is like crack. You quit again and again and you just keep going back. I need to do something drastic this time.

Not any more. Not like they were worth fuck all even if we did.

Try working for microsoft.

No! No way! If you have not been up there before I recomend you bring with you at least a minus 20, and if you are going early May then a minus 40. I have now done two trips to that area, and on one trip I would have been fine with a 0 degree on the other I would have died (not just been cold, but been dead!). Also, being cold sucks. A significant number of people go home from that area early because they are simply too cold, so dont ruin your trip because you are cheap, or want to save weight on your sleeping bag.

I will have to dig them up from the bowels of my home computer. It will be late tonight. I was just thinking that if there really was a heaven and the whole gate thing is right, I cant wait till they ask me the question about booting jesus out of the way in order to place mary in a compromising position.

Anyone who is on this site today, who is not at work need to take a look at their priorities.
