Found this funny story online. reading 'Creagh Dhu Climber', the biog of John Cunningham. Came across this superb story, relating to 2 brothers who were working at Glenmore Lodge. They sought out Cunningham for a bit of advice about the 'The Hill' at Creag Dubh. 'what did you take when you did it' they asked. 'A number 4 hex' Cunningham replied. So off they went. On reaching the crux, they realised there was no crack for the hex, and very little for anything else. Anyway, the lead brother takes a long fall, recieving many injuries, including a broken pelvis. Weeks later, the brother returned to the lodge, on crutches, looking for Cunningham. 'I thought you said you took a No.4 hex' 'Aye thats what I took' 'But I couldn't find anywhere to place it' 'Funny that' says Cunningham 'neither could I'. What is the best you have ever sandbagged anyone? Mine was telling a guy who could only lead 10a that the first pitch of 5 Easy Pieces at Picnic Lunch Wall (12a) was Teddy Bears Picnic (10a) ...he actually got to the third bolt and spent a LONG time trying to get past it... The straight dope on SL courtesy of Babblefish: "In spite of its very youth, Sandrine with known to seize the advisabilities of the circuit 2000 to impose themselves and become Championne of the World of Block. Strong physically, it can put its talents at the profit of its climbing and does not put a question when should be passed higher speed." Thats extra Babbled.

Sandbagging is fun. PS The TOOF is a hike. Liberty Ridge is a daytrip. You dont need a #4 Camalot for St. Vitus Dance. Long weekends are a great time to do Slesse NE Buttress.

I read in the Kinsey Report that over 20% of rural males and 5% of rural females reported that their first sexual experience was with an animal whereas only 2% and 0% of urban males and females so indicated... quote: Originally posted by David Parker: 1,000 m = approx 3,330 ft. I recall reading a story about a WWII gunner who fell 10,000 ft. and lived! Landed in a big snowy fir tree with lots more snow on the ground. I wonder what the record is??? After you reach terminal velocity it does not matter how high off the ground you were. You are referring to Pvt. Nicholas L. Alkemade. I believe he actually fell 19,000 feet after ejecting out of a burning bomber. See The Book of World Records "biggest Fall" for more info. Still, 1000m = El Cap. That is plenty highball. [ 06-26-2002, 01:18 PM: Message edited by: Dru ]
