If the fact that the victory is easily won justifies the invasion why not go after Nepal next. How dare those bastards take almost a monopoly on 8000m peaks and not give the US any? Huh?
-
are you guys talking about the war or this thread huh?

I know it's wrong of me to say, but at this point it's a little like watching a football game. exactly, no one is gonna change anyone else's opinion so we might as well drink stuff and troll the crew who still think their amazing rhetorical point is gonna switch everyone to their side of things. So...what about Ghaddafi? He was Mr Evil in the 80's and now he makes nice. Who's to say Saddam left in peace wouldn't pull the same turn around? Maybe if we sent him a bunch of Mormon chicks from Utah he'd convert!

if it was an invasion then how come they choked huh? im not saying there weren't incursions into iraqi territory, but there was no invasion per se.

Guess what, the US (as part of a true multinational force not the current 'coalition of oh you can use our airspace if you bribe us' didnt invade Iraq in 91, they stopped at the Kuwaiti border cause the UN mandate did not extend to invasion, only repulsing the Iraqi invasion.

this war is not about safety or liberation...it is a territorial dispute between two groups of alpha male primates. you can see all the primate behaviour on display on CNN (human) or Discovery Channel (baboon, chimp) same deal. Social grooming is very good at releasing stress among primates. In bonobos, there is much less violence observed than in other primates. This is because they have a lot more sex. Primates that get laid often, apparently do not need to fight. This is why armies, etc segregate the sexes immediatelty during training. Long periods of no sex promote violent behaviour. In male primates, testosterone is secreted in the successful male after two males fight. Older male primates will bully weaker members of their, or nearby groups, in order to maintain their sexual drive. Gulf War 2 = expensive Viagra substitute.

Hatred can last a long time after the events that caused it: CASE IN POINT: Wednesday, Mar 19, 2003 Former soccer player bitten in revenge attack 19 years after FA Cup game CORBY, England (AP) - Nineteen years after scoring the winning goal in an FA Cup soccer semifinal, former Watford striker George Reilly had his ear bitten off by a fan of the losing team. Reilly scored the lone goal in Watford's 1-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle in the 1984 FA Cup semifinal. After retiring from soccer, he became a bricklayer. Reilly was working on a construction site earlier this week in Corby in central England when another workman punched him to the ground, chewed off his right ear and whispered, "Plymouth" into the other ear. The unidentified attacker fled. No arrests were made. The former Watford, Newcastle and West Bromwich Albion striker needed 50 stitches to sew his ear back on and eight more stitches for a gash above his eye. "I can't believe someone held a grudge for that long," Reilly was quoted Wednesday in the Sun tabloid newspaper. "I know people have strong loyalties but this is taking it a bit far." The 1984 game was the closest Plymouth has been to reaching the final of English soccer's most prestigious cup competition. Watford lost to Everton in the final and has never won the trophy.

So who's gonna climb what this weekend? Sunday sounds like it might be vaguely dry. I might take another whack at the horse what threw me last week, or go do some snowsports on the Coquihalla if things set up a bit.

They are just being lazy and regurgitating the pap the military gives them. There is no interest in the corporate powers running the media in presenting any other side of the story as it would cost more to do so and might be a story the mass of complacent citizens would not want to hear. Gee-whiz tehnco pieces on how many moving parts a Bradley AFV has are way easier to produce and might sell a few commercials for Humvees too.
