  2. hey breezy did you read this thread?
  3. yes. you cannot control an avalanche, serac fall, rockfall, sudden storms etc. you can only be aware of such conditions developing and attempt to minimize your exposure to them. if this means going home then do it. the only problem is if conditions take a turn for the worse when you are already committed you are screwed. i was reading twight's exteeeem book and my room mate asked me what i thought of it. i said it was pretty inspiring and she said "I don't support it. I think someone's gonna get killed." of course she was a sport climber but you get the drift...
  4. if you really want to avoid accidents the safest thing to do is to quit climbing.
  5. bump all you lib ridge bound climbers reevaluating your plans and heading to squamish, take note.
  6. or maybe it's to do with the fact we are nice country and well-liked by the world. no one hates us!
  7. i don't see how increased corporate control of oil is supposed to translate into cheaper gas for consumers. it's all about increased profit for shareholders not some sort of socialistic subsidization of the american motorist!
  8. you know where that sloping rail warm up is at the same boulders as goldfinger? its the layback problem that faces across to the rail next to the stupid dug-out sit start cave.

    Michael Moore

michael moore is funny. tv nation was the only tv show other than the simpsons i ever actually watched. just think what a splash moore would make if he did a reverse "super-size me" and went down to like 185 lbs. on an organic vegetarian diet
  21. If you are planning to come to Squamish this weekend please take note: 1) The Test of Metal mountain bike race is June 19 (Sat.) The normal Smoke Bluff parking lot *may* be closed all day saturday as a result. Climbers will have to park further away and walk in. 2) Brad Zdanivsky, the only climber to continue climbing after becoming a quadraplegic, will be trying to climb the Grand Wall. (I think he jumars with his neck and head or somethin') Anyways there will be fixed ropes strung up all over the Grand both Sat and Sun. The fixed line will be right of the Split but the last 2 pitches to Bellygood will probably be seeing heavy traffic from Brad and his support crew on the afternoons of both Sat and Sun. Plan accordingly. Maybe not the best weekend to do Grand Wall. More details www.verticalchallenge.org/news.htm I'm goin alpine suckers have fun in Squamish if you go!
  22. 31 C maybe?
  23. I think the Life Force Constant is like the primal engram you are regressed to in Scientology just before they hook up the vacuum cleaners and remove your wallet and brain...
