agree, buy any damn plastic boot that your foot, WITHOUT THE INNER ON, fits into, then get a custom inner made to fit your foot to the shell. it will cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ though. ski boot techs are like $120/hr. or get some mukluks and super flexible crampons and justbuild up strong muscles for front pointing. or take up sled dog racing instead. or training squirrels.............

I usually parka coat by finding an empty hanger and putting the coat on the hanger. Remember to turn off the heater in the coat when you park a your coat. Otherwise it could overheat and dehydrate and pets you might have left in your coat, like trained squirels could die.

This news from Adrian (webmaster) via Lyle Knight to all the kids at CC.com: Some info on the 2001/ 2002 Bivy Ice site "I will put up the Ice Page (2001-2002) tonight. I will, indeed, put a link from the new homepage <http://casbc.bivouac.com> to the new ice page. The Ice Page link will be at <http://casbc.bivouac.com/ice0102.htm>'>http://casbc.bivouac.com/ice0102.htm> Last year's page is still up at <http://casbc.bivouac.com/ice0001.htm> I also sent Anders the following "change of URL explanation" to put in the newsletter: "The address (URL) of the website has been updated to <http://casbc.bivouac.com>. If you type in <http://www.bivouac.com/casbc>, you will be forwarded to the new site, but this forwarding function only works on the homepage. Sub-addresses, such as <http://www.bivouac.com/casbc/ice0001.htm> no longer work. That particular page can be found at <http://casbc.bivouac.com/ice0001.htm>. You can browse to the re-addressed pages from the homepage or by replacing www.bivouac.com/casbc in your 'favorites' with casbc.bivouac.com." Sound reasonable? Maybe we should mention this year's URL too - <http://casbc.bivouac.com/ice0102.htm> "

on the subject of dangerous gear any cams or pins, nuts or biners that have ever taken a SMALL fall (like you dropped them on the floor)are truly dangerous and should be retired. likewise any gear that was ever in the trunk of your car, because of possible battery acid fumes weakening the materials. please send all such dangeous gear to me. I can dispose of it safely.
