Trip: Mt Adams - South Spur Trip Date: 04/21/2021 Trip Report: Hiked up from the Wicky Shelter. If one can drive through the foot high snow on the sweeping corner above Wicky Shelter, there is a bunch of dry road above it. But, it was clear that at least one vehicle had been stuck in it. Followed the normal winter route but headed right to view the sunrise on the Mazama Glacier Headwall(?), below image. Hiked up a bit more and then left to get back to the normal route - had to cross a narrow crevasse to do so. Descended the summer route. Seems like it is melting out fast as there were exposed rocks on the normal climbing route up to the Piker's Peak plateau. end sarcasm/ @DanO you've been such a joy to have on the site, but I've just don't want to normalize people linking to a few of the sites you've linked, in particular one that promotes racism and neo-nazi ideals. The other websites you've linked as your primary sources also rank extremely low in reputation. I thought about what to do, because I don't want to cut you out, but I don't think it's right to tolerate this level of misinformation without some sort of warning in case someone comes across one of your posts out of context. There are and have been a lot of people one this site who have a few screws loose (and I'm sure there are a number that think I do too), so I guess we can't fault you for that. So anyway, some good news! I thought of a way so I don't have to ban you. I'm going to give you a special title. It is not personal. If someone else does something similar they'll get the same. The other alternative is if you can provide your qualifications that prove you are actually qualified to advise on whether people should get vaccines or not, then we can also remove your title. I realize you may think this proves I'm the 5th generational warfare human influence operator you think I am. But understand that coming from you, I have to take that as a compliment. That means you really care about me. And given your beliefs, I can't believe that you've got a lot of friends that you interact much with. So I kinda feel sorry for you. But I also think if a doctor tells you to take your meds, you should. And I'm not banning you. I'm probably going to go back and remove the neo-nazi website you linked to, and take steps so you can't link to it again. If this offends you, I do not care. Go the earliest there is a weather window after the road opens. Also, snowpack AROUND Rainier doesn't correlate with glacial cover/recession.
