Dru Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Just like Twight has the picture of the graveyard in his Extreme book, we should all pause and consider the fate of some posters on this board. DEAD because of ill considered words. Yes, I have been informed by someone who knows that "Chepe" has joined the ranks of the dead along with Donkey Puncher and all the other banned avatars. Poor guy Quote
allthumbs Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Day is done, gone the sun, From the lake, from the hills, from the sky; All is well, safely rest, God is nigh. Fading light, dims the sight, And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright. From afar, drawing nigh, falls the night. Thanks and praise, for our days, 'Neath the sun, 'neath the stars, neath the sky; As we go, this we know, God is nigh. Sun has set, shadows come, Time has fled, Scouts must go to their beds Always true to the promise that they made. While the light fades from sight, And the stars gleaming rays softly send, To thy hands we our souls, Lord, commend. Farewell, comrade Chepe Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 What a shame. Only seventeen more avatars left to ban! Quote

Off_White Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Well Jon said he's not a very nice guy. Mess with the man and he'll take you down. I'm sure Chepe could roll on his back like a good submissive puppy and get re-incarnated. Quote
allthumbs Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 There's no honor in groveling. Better dead than a 'yes man'. Quote
mattp Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 I disagree with the assertion that there is no honor in groveling. Groveling can be honorable if to do otherwise is futile and one believes that, by groveling, they can serve the greater good. I bet Chepe is pretty good at it when Ray's got a dog biscuit in one hand and a whip in the other! Quote
Cobra Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Those damn avatars and people using them. They're all secretive and always out of line. The board owners never know who they are It's double secret probation if you get caught using one Quote
sk Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 I disagree with the assertion that there is no honor in groveling. Groveling can be honorable if to do otherwise is futile and one believes that, by groveling, they can serve the greater good. I bet Chepe is pretty good at it when Ray's got a dog biscuit in one hand and a whip in the other! I disagree. I think there is a huge difference between begging and groveling Quote
mattp Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 If you mean that groveling includes the large measure of submission and perhaps the disiplay of fear, I agree they are not the same. Do you truly think it is always dishonorable to display submission and fear? What would Buffy do? Quote
sk Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 I don't know anything about buffy... but muffy begs. Groveling to me means that you are in some way inferior(less of a humanbeing) and do not desurve. begging means you really really want and if you paly your cards right you just might get. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 From dictionary.com, for what it's worth: beg (bg) v. begged, beg·ging, begs v. tr. To ask for as charity: begged money while sitting in a doorway. To ask earnestly for or of; entreat: begged me for help. grov·el (grvl, grv-) intr.v. grov·eled, also grov·elled grov·el·ing, grov·el·ling grov·els, grov·els To behave in a servile or demeaning manner; cringe. To lie or creep in a prostrate position, as in subservience or humility Quote
mattp Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 So, when faced with the drug-crazed axe wielder, is it more honorable to beg for mercy or to grovel? Quote
Dumpster_Diver Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Neither. Either kick some butt or beg for a quick death. Quote
allthumbs Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Neither. I'd shoot the goblin without hesitation or remorse. Quote
sk Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 is it more honorable to beg for sex or grovel? dude lighten up Quote
