genepires Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 http://unofficialnetworks.com/2016/03/watch-finally-the-europeans-built-touring-snowblades being a 20+ year snowboarder gives me little thought of taking up skiing but these snowblades may convert me to a two plank life style. if you would allow me to be liberal with the term plank in regards to snowblades. may turn out to be a great ice climbing approach tool though. Bronco Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I heard Theodore Cruz rides snow blades but his are made in the USA! Quote
genepires Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 It's a parody right? The music.. Haha It is a Swiss commercial. Quote
AlpineK Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 http://unofficialnetworks.com/2016/03/watch-finally-the-europeans-built-touring-snowblades may turn out to be a great ice climbing approach tool though. They look dumb for either skiers or snowboarders. Basically lame skis and snowboards in one package. On the other hand they might be a good way to go for ice climb approaches. Quote
OlympicMtnBoy Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I'm not sure how these are really an improvement over the Rossignol Free Trek Venture approach skis I bought in the early 2000's. Actually the binding is identical, but the Freetreks were just a normal 99cm fat snowblade with a standard skin with glue. They really work quite well although are difficult to ski in anything but corn with a pack on (with my leather ice boots anyways). I haven't really used them since I made the switch to real skis with dynafits. I'd probably sell em if someone is interested. Quote
ilookeddown Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Karhu also had a similar product in 2000 or 2001. It was called the Sweeper. It didn't last long. Quote
YakCLimber78 Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I've got a pair of Summit Ski Boards that are mounted with Silvretta Touring bindings. They work pretty well, but nothing is as good as a set of AT skis....... Quote
Water Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 It's a parody right? The music.. Haha It is a Swiss commercial. Those Swiss with their dry sense of humor.. wonder why such an incredible best of both worlds product didn't previously saturate the market. Quote
