PaulB Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 Has anyone heard dates for the Ice Festival this year? Quote
Dru Posted December 14, 2002 Posted December 14, 2002 I think is end of Jan or start of feb. i think there is a web site now too. check www.lillooeticefest.ca maybe? if thats actually a porn site i take no responsibility. Quote
PaulB Posted December 14, 2002 Author Posted December 14, 2002 Thanks, I thought there was a web site, but I couldn't remember what it was. The dates are Feb 14 - 17. This overlaps with the start of the Vancouver Mountain Film Festival. Choices, choices, choices...... Quote
slothrop Posted December 14, 2002 Posted December 14, 2002 That website is broken, at least in my browser. And to participate in the Performance/Technique Clinic, they recommend that you be able to TR W13. That's when the ice kills you when you look at it funny, right? Quote
eric8 Posted December 14, 2002 Posted December 14, 2002 yeah, and thats the intro to steep ice class, i would hate to see the advanced class Quote
Lambone Posted December 14, 2002 Posted December 14, 2002 Dru, Who is hosting/organizing the Ice Fest...just curois. i couldn't tell from the web site. Phair Creek would be cool. Quote
icegirl Posted December 14, 2002 Posted December 14, 2002 phair creek would be cool, but only if the road is open/grated before we all try to head up... or someone with a hummer or a mog broke the trail for us (that is of course if it freezes and there is snow....) Quote
snoboy Posted December 17, 2002 Posted December 17, 2002 phair creek would be cool, but only if the road is open/grated before we all try to head up... or someone with a hummer or a mog broke the trail for us Would be happy to break the road, and I could fit at least a dozen climbers in the back of the mog. Sadly I will not be in that area at that time. Maybe next winter Freshiez in RossVegas today!!!! Quote
jja Posted December 17, 2002 Posted December 17, 2002 FYI, I asked them if they were providing transportation to phair creek (and other stuff): Hi John, Thanks for your inquiry, the registration fees are in Canadian dollars which is seperate from the clinic fees which will be approximately $100 cdn. We are looking into the transportation aspect into Phair creek - most likely, but we will keep you informed. We look forward to a really great event, hope to see you here. Check out our website from time to time for information and updates and keep dancing for lots of ice and cool temps. Dru Posted December 17, 2002 Posted December 17, 2002 Phair Creek is OK but the real action this winter will be in LOCATION DELETED BY THE CANADIAN INTERNET BETA POLICE Creek where there are dozens of unclimbed ice routes. Quote
fern Posted December 17, 2002 Posted December 17, 2002 Phair Creek is better and has many unclimbed lines. It has enough routes for everyone at the Icefest to climb. There is no need for anyone to go to LOCATION DELETED BY THE CANADIAN INTERNET BETA POLICE Creek . In fact that place is highly unsafe. Quote
