KaskadskyjKozak Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 It's time to abolish the Electoral College and go for popular vote. Period. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 This is probably the least path of resistance to that end. national popular vote No need to abolish the electoral college, which would require a change to the constitution - a practically impossible thing to do in the current political climate, or any climate, for that matter. rob Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 Alas, the president loves to whine about the media meanies at Fox News. To him, these are not people trying to do their jobs. No, they are out to get him. You can tell this is a serious piece of journalism. LOL the whole article reads like a bad facebook post. Written by Fox's token "liberal" -- you know, to make it balanced. Fuck knuckles Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 (edited) Yesterday they posted an old article on 'questionable climate data' LOL. They've also decreased the number of pieces they run on their home page. Reduce Recycle Reuse And they finally cut Sarah loose by opting not to renew her million/year contract. Rfucks love their wymins in lots and lots of foundation makeup, but Sarah was starting to look like she was made of Silly Puddy. She, in her infinite wisdom, turned around and accused the right wing media (without mentioning her previous employer by name) of 'preaching to the choir' and 'failing to reach a broader audience with the conservative message'. Yeah, that's it Sarah. The GOP is just having trouble getting the word out. If only.... If you look at their ads - their sponsors aren't exactly the highest price spread around. Advertising dollars are like tumbleweeds, and theirs are clearly drying up and blowing away in what looks like permanent climate change. You can only pack so many Cialis and Metal Detector ads on a single page. Edited January 29, 2013 by tvashtarkatena Quote

Off_White Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 You sure like to dehumanize "people", rob. Fixed it for you. Years ago, in Belltown around bar time, this guy across the street from me and my girlfriend loudly declaimed, "YOU SEE THAT?" while pointing at a newspaper machine. He then proceeded to shout, "THAT'S THE FUCKING REPUBLICANS" as he kicked the shit out of the poor non-partisan dispenser. We looked at each other and said at the same time, "what a great name for a band!" Quote
ivan Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 "the fucking republicans" band concept: - all dressed to the tees - all closet gay - all songs really shitty covers of 80s classics that were kinda stupid at the time, but w/o the reasonable excuse then of having been likable because yer nuts hadn't yet progressed past the peach-fuzz stage - all tickets beyond the price range of the ignorant hillbillies who can't afford them, yet inexplicably make up the kkkore of the fanbase - mascot: "the quayle-monster" - some bastard genetic mutation wrought from the cumstains extracted from the undergarments of dan n' that bible-spice chick i'm sure i'm missing something? ivan Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 the lead singer oughta at least be "dick nixon" Quote
matt_warfield Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Then the band name should be "Watergate" or "I am Not a Liar" Quote

matt_warfield Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) A slow news day can be solved at night by walking on Pac Hwy between Tukwila and Fed Way at night. It will not be boring but it could be expensive. Edited January 30, 2013 by matt_warfield Quote

"crazy"... and evinces 50% of all R's on top of that! ... furthermore, it's "proof" that 5x as many Republicans are as bat shit crazy as Dems! LOLZ, Rob! Quote
rob Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 well, 5X would only be accurate if the selection pool of dems and repubs were the same size. 50% of one group is not necessarily more or less than 10% of another. Quote
rob Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Also, I bet that most of the crazies on both sides don't identify themselves as "republicans" or "democrats" -- ESPECIALLY on the liberal side. The craziest liberals I know absolutely *hate* them dems, they think they're basically functionally the same as the republicans. I know a few tea partiers who also refuse to identify themselves as republicans. Who do they vote for, though, I wonder? Certainly not the black man! He's a muslim! Quote
