murraysovereign Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Someone asked this the other day, and I have no answer, so throwing it out to all you American types: George Romney ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 1968, eventually losing out to Richard Nixon. So far, so good, right? But... as Mittens keeps reminding Latino voters, George Romney was born in Mexico. So... why would someone who is constitutionally inelligible for the presidency try to win his party's nomination? Quote
murraysovereign Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 Are you high? No, should I be? I can go see some people and be back in a few minutes, if you think it would help. Quote
Pete_H Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Wetslide, you fool. That's actually a good question and I had to look it up. George Romney was a "Natural Born Citizen," born outside the U.S., but a child of citizens. Apparently that counts. Quote
murraysovereign Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 I wondered if that was the case. It was either that, or they just don't bother asking white guys to show their birth certificates. Quote
keenwesh Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 the birthers are racist, what else is new? Quote
rob Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 McCain was also born outside the US, but to american citizens. Quote

G-spotter Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 KENDAL MINT CAKE HAS BEEN TO THE SUMMIT OF EVEREST. It's the best and most successful thing any George Romney has ever made. Quote
