olyclimber Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 my favorite qoute on the geek site: Having climbed in college (certified too), I'd always pretty much believed that non-climbers having carabiners on their keychains was tool-highlighter. Quote
olyclimber Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 thanks for changing the link from giz. those guys are sleezballz who don't deserve the clicks. Quote
chris54 Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 So simple. I'm amazed this hasn't already been invented. Quote
rob Posted July 14, 2011 Author Posted July 14, 2011 From the looks of it, it looks like they have two models. The "Gridlock" appears to have a little notch like on saftey/via ferreta gear (to protect the sling from metal cables.) Is that what that is? The "Rocklock" doesn't have this feature. BootsandPants Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 It will be interesting to see how it holds up in practical use. I wonder how easy it is to clean the magnets. I'm sure that ferrous materials in dirt getting stuck in there will eventually reduce their ability to function properly. Quote
olyclimber Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 and if you get caught in a magnetic storm your biners will start clacking away. possibly. not proven. Quote
olyclimber Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 cool tech though, i'm getting one when they come out. for my keys. Quote

pcg Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 And how will a rack of these affect a compass reading? Quote
dougd Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 If I wrap the gates in copper wire can I use it to charge my iPhone? Probably shouldn't carry all that in your front pocket... Just in case... d Quote

RaisedByPikas Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 I'm going to guess $30 for the gridlock and $20 for the rocklock Quote
