goatboy Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Maybe Washington already has enough wonderful terrain and we're trying to throw a bone to the Oregonians by annexing Beacon to the Oregon forum? At least they still have an NBA team, on the other hand. Quote
AlpineK Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Actually Beacon Rock gets a forum devoted to it and the lesser crags in the gorge. Columbia River Gorge Due to long standing border disputes some Oregonians try and move Beacon to the Oregon Cascades. Don't let them fool you Quote
ivan Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 my old tr's for beacon keep showing up in the oregon forum and i'd be happy to have them moved it's also still not possible to post tr's in the gorge forum, so i shall continue to annoy the general public from time to time in the or-e-gone forum when it pleases me Quote
denalidave Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 But no one has said the real reason... "BECAUSE THE BEST CLIMBING IN OREGON IS IN WASHINGTON, AT BEACON ROCK". That is what I have always been told, anyway. Quote
JoshK Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Mostly because Ivan climbs there a lot and us Washingtonians would rather he be associated with Oregon than the rest of us up here... Quote

LostCamKenny Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 beacon litteraly is a mountain - or what was left of one - so it is part of the cascades. if you reference jeff thomas's oregon rock then you'll know that the best rock climbing in portland is at beacon (even if beacon is on the WA side of the gorge) Quote
