stevetimetravlr Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 I have always been a Park Ranger in my own mind. As a citizen, I own the land, the park, the rock. I have a shared sense of responsibility and concern for the resources we all utilize. Therefore I place you all under arrest for wanton disregard for social norms and deviant behavior, and sentence you to 30 days of hard labor on the walls of Beacon Rock. Joseph, if you don't get the rock open shortly, you will be charged with obstruction of justice as these guys can't serve out their term. Get on it please, as these guys have a debt to society to pay. Quote
JosephH Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Trust me, that's a debt society is in no rush to collect. Quote
denalidave Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 what are you guys, park rangers now? I was given the impression that if I kiss enough ass an do as da man says, I will get me a shiny Jr Ranger badge. I'm counting on it. Quote

Plaidman Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 good! maybe all the birds should be relocated to madrone that way beacon would be in the clear. then there can be all kinds of banter about madrone being closed for... wait, nevermind. my question is: would JH still monitor falcons if they relocated to madrone? pro'ly so... a future thread would look like this: JH: been monitoring the falcon activity at madrone, now, for the past week and it looks like they are about to open the rock to climbing. Kevboner: JH, why don't you suggest that they open the rock all year rather than suck up to the man in clackamas county by doing their monitoring work? JH: kev, why don't you start by sucking yourself off? Kevbone: JH, quit whining about the rules and start working for the climbers for a change... ivan: did somebody say wine?!? pink: kevin, as your friend i am asking you to drop this one. LCK: hey, did you all see that the trail to the rock is closed, too? JH: i am working to climb as much as i can out there and if that means that i cooperate with, and inform, the rangers and wildlife staff then that is what i will do. and here's a bunch of research that i did to make my post longer and thus more intelligent sounding... reasearch, jargon, booksmarts, numbers, numbers, numbers, numbers, numbers, numbers, opinions, opinions, facts, facts, numbers, numbers, numbers, numbers, reserach, research, bullshit, numbers, facts, numbers, conclusion... billcoe: you guys should take a roadtrip and climb elsewhere - expand your experiences! DenaliDave: hey sobo, what time is it? ivan: i like sangria:) LCK: I am the MAN - let me handle it! yada yada yada This is classic. LOL!!!!! Quote

Lucky Larry Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 I recently saw something the looked like a rough draft for BR etiquette and it looked like a rule etiquette book from hell; no one is going to read all this bull. climbers don't make rules, i sez ta me-sef, they break them. here's the only rule we need-The Golden Rule: do not put up a route here until you talk to a local; more than likely the route has already been done years ago [so buzz off bolt head]. kevbone Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 It is open as long as you are NOT A CLIMBER. Can we sue for discrimination? Quote
