My extended thanksgiving starts soon (november 22-December 1) and I am driving to California.

Objectives, (not in order of priority):

1. Hang out with my brother in Long Beach

2. Rock Climb at J-Tree

3. Climb Icey Stuff, Alpine Ice, or other frozen water.

4. Stop at the Toronado in SF for many beers

I've never climbed in the Sierra's, or California for that matter so I don't know shit. I'm curious if any alpine stuff can potentially be good this time of year.

I'm open to any other suggestions of fun activities.

i've got some suggestions for ya. [Wink] unfortunately they would require you taking me with you. [Razz]

i do have a climbing partner who goes down there every once in awhile to ski/climb some moderate stuff in the sierra's - i'll get you two in touch via e-mail.

Yep Col., I've got a whole crew of friends who will be at JT over Thanksgiving, and a few who will be there longer. Think of it as Rope-Up but only about half the people. I'll PM you some contact info.

vesuvios was a coffee shop when the beats hung out there, but it's got a cool atmosphere.

The great thing is that Anchor Steam is always on tap and cheap in SF

Probably not - Mammoths already opened, and the Tahoe resorts are following this weekend.
