DPS Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I am curious about condtions on the north side of Mt Baker. Does anyone know where the snow line currently is and how much new snow is on the glacier? Is floation necessary to get to Colfax right now? Thanks, Dan Quote
AllYouCanEat Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Baker from Shuksan last weekend. I would think you'd be able to ski most of the way down to the trail and perhaps a bit down it right now, depending on how much you want to scratch your skis. BTW, shuksan was sweet!!! Flotation is always preferred Quote

Choada_Boy Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Super easy... NO flotation required Did I run into you on the trail on your way down? Quote
NoahT Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Ya I think you did. You must have been the guy bouldering around the seracs? I was the one with the orange pack and rope you saw first. Well, you didn't miss out on anything that great up there. 3rd time would not have been a charm. Quote
marc_leclerc Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 So the approach is good right now??? Quote
Choada_Boy Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Right now? Or right.....now? Because right now it's snowing up there. Quote
