WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Kids Ropeup 2009

Recommended Posts

The one thing I learned this year is to plan a whole lot earlier if we want the group site at Eight Mile Campground. So...

Any suggestions on when people want to do this next year? Spring or summer? Toss some dates out there so we can get a spot reserved early and people can mark their calendars! Thanks!

Well my crew had so much fun I would vote for 2 events a year 1 in the spring maybe in vantage and one aug/sep in the icecycle canyon. How about Aug 21 to 23 2009

Any one want to set a date for a kids rope up this year? My vote is for Leavenworth late in Aug say 21-23. With early planning maybe we can get a camping spot near the climbing.

Because of my hand, I'm not sure we'll be doing any climbing until later this summer if at all, so I'll let those who know they will be attending give their input on the date. I sure hope more people want to come. It was a lot of fun last year.

PeterSS - I do have a CD of pics for you. Just never sent it. Sorry.

Hey if someone wants to grab this and set something up, CC.com can pay for the campground fees (and probably for dawgs, buns, burgers).

I know Ulee likes doing it every year! Unfortunately my summer is already pretty busy so I'm not sure if I'll have the time. And we know we should probably book earlier so we can get a place in the Icicle near the climbing.

Somebody should grab the reins on this and take Porter up on the offer for cc.com to pay for the camping and some food. Just go to last year's thread. The links to reserve the campgrounds are there. It really is a good time.

I'd really like to get in on this, too. My son will be 7 in Aug and is quite active, done a little gym bouldering but it would be cool for him to be with other kids on rock. Unfortunately I have to work Sundays, so we would only be able to make it on Friday-Saturday, but it would be well worth it.

So, is it happening? My son's only 18 months, but I am pretty sure he's going to want to be involved. Who do I talk to?

Hey. I still can't climb. Unfortunately I can't belay either. So we're definitely not going to be at Kids Ropeup.

If you guys want this to happen, someone needs to take the lead and make a reservation. Porter already posted he'd pay for the site. It might be too late, but someone should at least try!
