olyclimber Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Someone was telling me of a new mountain bike trail system being developed near the Seattle area (well, I'm pretty sure its on the Eastside). It was supposed to be signficant (bigger than the lil areas like Tapeworm or St. Edwards). Anyone have the scoop on that? Quote
olyclimber Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 this must be it. perhap not bigger than st edwards? http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/eastsidenews/2004129746_bikecourse17e.html Quote

Good2Go Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 For cross country/trail riding, Tiger Mtn (off summit of Hwy 18) is the best spot locally. Unfortunately, it's wet as hell there until like June-ish. Prolly closed to bikes right now too (I think it usually opens in May). There are some great trails up there with enough climbing to cobble together a decent variety of loop rides. Quote
olyclimber Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 yes, i'm familiar with Tiger and the rest of the usual suspects. always love new places to ride! Quote

It was supposed to be signficant (bigger than the lil areas like Tapeworm or St. Edwards). Anyone have the scoop on that? My little brother went to a place called "The Colonnades" this past Sunday--somewhere in Seattle. Told me it was Mtb's only, but more obstacle/trick/technical riding. Quote
olyclimber Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 yes, that is underneath I-5 right downtown. This and the other one I mention are brought to you largely because of Dave Shuldt and his buddies at that bike club he is a part of. Quote
ken4ord Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Dood in south seatac near you there is some xc riding somewhat limited though. I used to go there for jumping. So are you riding your old rig or did you get something new? I was always surprised on the lack of local riding in and around the Seattle area given that there is such a hugh cycling community there. For the best mountain biking ever, you should come out here, this place has it all. It is definitely mountain biking heaven. Quote
olyclimber Posted April 30, 2008 Author Posted April 30, 2008 still the old bike, with a few upgrades to make it last a while longer. if i ride enough this year i'll probably spring for a new FS bike (probably a Kona) next year. Quote
Serenity Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 I'll take you out to some cool trails sometime when I am home. Quote

climbinggal Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 (edited) Any idea where I can find 'natural' not man-made crap, 'single track', and I love technical single track xc (cross country) mountain bike rides. The same as 'Wales', U.K, type of tracks is what I mean, and what I most want again; and I don't mind driving as far as Seattle if need be, intermittently for it, if that is where it is mostly at. Thanks Edited May 21, 2008 by climbinggal Quote
canyondweller Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 What do you mean by 'not manmade'? There is some awesome singletrack in this area, mostly hiking trails, but in stellar areas. Most, unfortunately, are currently under snow. Quote
