JosephH Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 The biggest access issue of our time. WTF is with this UBBError and throttling function? I know of no other forum website that 'features' such a feature. How about turning it off. If someone gets themselves in a nationally recognized clusterf#ck on Hood you can turn it back on for a few days until it blows over. Right now this just blows period and you couldn't possibly be getting traffic to warrant this - or if you are - sell more advertising at a better price and host this baby on webfarm in a reputable datacenter. JosephH Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 If it isn't more or less 'so simple' then UBB.threads is the wrong software - how many other forum sites do you see throttleing thread listings in this way? Quote
chucK Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 What throttling are you talking about? Â You do seem pretty smart about all this computer stuff. Could you send Tvash a PM and teach him how to use the quote function? Â OKTHXBYE Quote
JosephH Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 The fact that you ever see a message like the one in the thread title means there is either some deliberate throttling to the search function going on or some really bad code that needs to be fixed. Quote
wfinley Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 there is either some deliberate throttling to the search function going on or some really bad code that needs to be fixed. It's a standard filter on forum software. PHPBB does it as well. Â Try using google... just append "site:cascadeclimbers.com" to the keywords. For example: WTF search site:cascadeclimbers.com Quote
sobo Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Hey Billy, that's a nice trick to know. Thanks! Quote
