chucK Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Wilkerson played the past two seasons with the Texas Rangers. In 2007, he hit .234 with 20 homers and 62 runs batted in. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted February 1, 2008 Author Posted February 1, 2008 He's just a cheap insurance policy. We also have Reed & Balantien. We'll have Jr back in July. And then it's the Championship! Quote
Peter_Puget Posted February 1, 2008 Author Posted February 1, 2008 Porter and I need to start the Safeco pub clubs again. 3 night a week for six months! And then a few crazy nights in October!!!! Quote
olyclimber Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 i'm looking forward to the season, and i wish i had your optimism peter...they should get this deal done for the pitcher...and then after that at least one more move...then they'll have a team. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted February 1, 2008 Author Posted February 1, 2008 KKK - This may be in spray but only because Timmy hasn't finished coding the ultra groovy NEW BASEBALL FORUM! So be nice and upbeat! Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 OK, the M's will try really hard, and really that's all the counts when they lose. Quote

Hugh Conway Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 do conservatives like baseball because they love mindless tedium? or is it vice versa? Quote
olyclimber Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 don't be a negative nelly. you'd look just fine. besides, little kids look smarter even when they're not beating you at wii sports. i don't know how they pull it off. Quote
Jim Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Baseball: As athleticly challenging as painting. For the spectator as exciting as watching it dry. Less so with the Mariners. Quote
olyclimber Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 i understand that some people don't care for classical music either . Quote
Jim Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Classical music is great. I saw Micky Mantle play in NYC and used to go see the Mets and Yanks both. Now I find the whole prima dona game uninteresting. The game is so dang drawn out now. WTF - do you have to adjust your crotch each time you swing? Any sport that can be overanalyzed by the likes of limp wrists like George Will - no thanks. Quote
olyclimber Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 i thought you were a liberal jim. why the queer hating? Quote
olyclimber Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 i suppose you have a thing against ichiro adjusting his shirt too Quote
Jim Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 George Will writing a book on baseball, or any sport, is akin to Joyce Carol Oates and her book on boxing. Gimme a break. Somehow baseball is prime for over-intelluctualizing. It's just a friggin sport. Now one dominated by puffed up druggies and overpaid men paid way too much to hit and catch. Ichiro is one of the few all around talented players. Quote
