Trent Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Saw this line this weekend just north of Paul Bunyans Stump and wondered if it had been climbed. "Washington Ice" has rumours of ice in the area but nothing described. There were a few more lines ranging from WI2 to mixed close by. Perhaps the future site of the Washington Ice Festival? The line is at the far lower left of the preceding photo at the toe of the (almost) extinct Colonial Glacier. Quote
genepires Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 that looks sweet! thanks for sharing. gene Quote
Alex Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Looks great, but a long drive and long approach for some ice. Quote
Dannible Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 For most of us it's always a long drive for ice. How long is the approach this time of year? Quote
Trent Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 We did not travel by it on the way up, but at our rate I would guess about four hours. Quote
wayne Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I have seen that thing a couple of times. There is usually crappy snow and avy danger to get up there , but it is the best pure water ice route still unclimbed. It should tickle some fancies, but it is at least a WI-5. Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Looks great, but a long drive and long approach for some ice. :lmao: :lmao: Quote
