I'm surprised that there wasn't a shovel around. Did you really look?

it was dark. i looked briefly, but given i was on UW campus and the construction areas were fenced off, i didn't see anything usable nearby.

For how long? 20 seconds? 10 seconds?

So in your mind the idea of a shovel was formed?

And you say it was dark? How dark? We all know crows roost for the night BEFORE it gets dark.

Which part of your story would you like to recant?

It is legal to kill crows year round. And coyotes.

Any other vermin this is acceptable for?

You mean like squirrels and such? I think vermin are pretty much open game. And you are also allowed to shoot anything that is threatening your life or is creating a "deleterious effect" on your property (I think this was written for farmers and whatnot)

What I'd be more interested in seeing is if I'd find any CROWS around at that time of night!

Admit it, Gary, there was no Crow.
