AlpineK Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I never expected bands like that from my high school days to be still around. Quote
No. 13 Baby Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 The bass player really let himself go. Quote

kevbone Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 I never expected bands like that from my high school days to be still around. I first thought no way am I going to pay the high price for a ticket…..but after seeing this I am going. I have not missed a Van Halen concert since I was 14. Hell yeah……I thought they sounded great. AlpineK Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 David Lee Roth looks to be in pretty good condition for a now old rocker. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Either the recording quality sucks or Van Halen sounds like crap. Quote
rob Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 nice drumset. How many bass drums does he have? 4? Quote
Stefan Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I never expected bands like that from my high school days to be still around. Neither did my mother. But the Rolling Stones are still kicking around. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 A lot of bands are. The video is not impressive, however. Quote
dt_3pin Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 some improve...... Nice one. JM is the deal. Quote
kevbone Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 A lot of bands are. The video is not impressive, however. Dude….you are a “glass is half full” kind of guys……always something negative to say. Quote
AlpineK Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I liked VH while in jr high, but I grew to not quite dislike them, but to not be very interested soon thereafter. Now my attitude is, "way to stick with it." Quote

Now my attitude is, "way to stick with it." Well, it's fun music to play (at least on guitar), and there are still a few songs that get my blood pumping ("Take your Whiskey Home", "Meanstreets", "Eruption"), but the hits are over-played, and getting old for me. See what I am saying…….Mr. Glass is half full! The only problem I will have with this show is I am a huge fan of all Van Halen. I will want to see and hear Sammy era songs. Should be a good show…..they have nothing but good things said about this tour. Quote
Ponzini Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Got my tickets for the Vancouver show Dec 5th! Row 5 in the lower bowl, right in front of the stage. Hopefully they can stay together and Dave's voice will not crap out before then. Mabye Alex has some new material for his solo but I doubt it. Quote

Dechristo Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 the metaphor you're looking for to express pessimism is "glass half empty". Quote
