Peter_Puget Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Last night after several beers and checking out a couple hundred (of over 4,000) climbing photos, I friend and I jumped online to find a picture I the cc.com gallery. At that point my friend commented: “I’m sure glad I don’t live in Portland.” I knew right away what he meant. What’s up with the Vanc/Portland scene? You guys are always posturing and slamming each other. Could it be the effects of radiation making its way down from Hanford? Quote

Sherri Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 they need to spread the love like Seattle does Careful. Didn't that "wide stance" thing just get Peter into a brush with bathroom security recently? Quote
John Frieh Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Peter: Post a link to what your friend is referring to... I don't get that impression down here at all. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 Well I am sure it was Kevbone's recent post about the Oswego cracks that triggered the comments but there is a constant stream of arguements put downs and so forth. (And this is excluding Joseph from the equation) I guess you either see it or you don't but I've heard similar comments in the past. Maybe it's just the internet. Quote

The funny thing, Peter, is the Portland people think the Seattle crew is a bunch of nasty backbiting interweb psychopaths. Quote
olyclimber Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Carl used to live down there, now he lives up here....i think i know what the cause is. Quote
Adam13 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 That's not exclusive to the people that live in Portland. Quote
John Frieh Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Yeah... internet. As annoying as Kevin can be on cc he is a great person and has contributed a lot in time and effort down here in crag development. Same with Joe... puts in tons of hours @ beacon... he just has some opinions that most of us laugh at. I think Seattle has some too... tvashtar katena is quite the spray lord but also writes some great TRs... I can't keep track of all the avatars Pax has but he contributes some great stuff also. The list goes on... Quote
ClimbingPanther Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Could it be the effects of radiation making its way down from Hanford? Radiation makes you conservative, and we all know conservatives don't posture & slam Quote
cj001f Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 ....i think i know what the cause is. I was living in exile and co-ordinating the spray amongst my minions before I made my exalted sealed train return? Quote

Peter_Puget Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 Ah wrong again boyo. While I enjoy a good troll this thread is most certainly not one. Just a tip: it's best to combine smugness with being correct. You seem to consistently forget that. Quote
archenemy Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Winter is a boyo? Is this correct? Quote
