jared_j Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 That is impressive! What was your footwear choice? Quote
To_The_Top Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Nice work, and I thought 24 hours was fast. TTT Quote
scottgg Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Wow, great job! Do you have any aspirations to run the Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier? Quote
jessbee Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Congrats!!! I was one of the "party of 6" you saw that day--actually we were 7 . You certainly were cranking out miles and I was jealous of your teeny pack. Glad you made it, what an awesome day to climb! Quote
off_the_hook Posted August 4, 2007 Author Posted August 4, 2007 Jessbee, glad you had a great time on the mountain as well! Â Hydration: No filter. I started with a 2L Hydration bladder, refilling at a stream on the slabs just before the ascent to Snow Dome. Â Footwear: Trail runners from the North Bend Factory Stores. Â Camera: The 3.5 year old Nikon 5600 has been great for scenery shots; light and simple. The new Nikons with greater MPs and features are tempting though. Â Wonderland: I have thought about it, but I only want to do it when I feel adequately prepared to do 94 miles very fast, which is not yet. Â Â Quote
zoroastr Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 i am without speech... Â nice one! this definitely tops any of my puny efforts. please take me on the next one. I can just grab one of your pack straps when i start to wither. Quote
PhilU Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Nice job! Â What did the ranger have to say, prior to your start and then upon return? Quote

off_the_hook Posted August 26, 2007 Author Posted August 26, 2007 The ranger was very supportive prior to the start, telling me conditions were great and I should go get it. After the climb, he congratulated me. Quote
clintcummins Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Leor, Â Wow, way to choose your own ultras this summer! What most of us can only dream about, you can pull off. Â What a killer summer you had, in spite of the WA weather (with your day trip abilities, the weather is not fast enough to catch you out...). Â I wish I had some perspective on mountain running, but you are so far out beyond what I've ever done. Back in 1977 I [rope-]soloed the direct N Ridge of Stuart (w/o gendarme), but managed to crush my foot in a loose talus field when descending the NW Buttress. That was the start and end of my "mountain running". So I guess all I can say is don't go down that NW Buttress! Â Thanks for sharing. Quote
matt_warfield Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I was waiting for zoroaster to weigh in as I know he is also a fan of light, fast, and long. Â Keep it up and keep posting! Quote
setnei Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Amazing work, Leor - very cool to see how fast a trip like Oly can go. I spent four days up there at the end of July, so mentally a sub-12 hour is just insanity defined. Very inspirational, keep it up! Quote
