WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Uses for Bamboo?

Recommended Posts

Not quite. The zoo keepers would stack them on the ground for the elephants to pick up and toss with their trunks.

:pagetop: 's need things to play with

Spanking.

I'm impressed, it only took 15 posts, and it wasn't even Archie of Muffie!

The zoo will actually take them? Hmmm, might have to give them a call.

Unluckily no pieces quite large/long enough for serious fencing type use, but could probably make some killer bean poles now that I think about it. And of course wands....

Find a friend with a jointer, get a bag of dope, and make some really cool furniture.

Yes, they seem to always need more bamboo. I have never had them say no, no matter how much I've chopped. That stuff grows back soooo fast!

Oh, and they do make good bean poles. I just use the lazy man's trick. I put three poles around each plant and put a small pot at the top to hold the three poles together. Takes four seconds.

YES! WANDS! I'll take your bamboo..........

My neighbor built a super rad raised bed out of bamboo shoots. She just created bundles with roughly ten shoots in each tying them together with horse twine, made something like 100 of em, sunk em in the ground a couple of inches in an oval pattern, and filled the whole thing with dirt.

Its dope.
