cj001f Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 can those who advocate a "free" market please describe it? Quote
Roy Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Screw rankings and statistics, we need some change. We are all lucky to be where we have chance at change. Government and the industry will come around if enough debate happens. At least I have to hope so. Moore uses this stuff to make money welcome to free enterprise. I do not think he is a saint but he at least gets it out there. Better than some CEO of an insurance company smiling at me and telling I am so much better off than the rest of the world. Quote
dmuja Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 can those who advocate a "free" market please describe it? I don't advocate a free market, but its pretty well described in the second post of this thread. After you see "Sicko", pick up the movie "Network" (1976) and then get "mad as hell...." And may as well pick up "Wall Street" while your at it. Your cinematic edification will be complete Quote
TREETOAD Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Why should someone profit from someone's illness or injury? It's just that easy! Quote
dmuja Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Why should someone profit from someone's illness or injury?... They Shouldn't. Quote
JayB Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Why should a farmer profit from someone's hunger... Why should a professor profit from someone's ignorance... Economic analysis by Leftist nursery rhyme. Fantastic. Glad to see the rousing defense of the WTO rankings, though. Quote
TREETOAD Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Why should a professor profit from someone's ignorance... Apparently no professor made any money on you... Quote
JayB Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Toad: If your intention was to insult me, rather than pay me an inadvertent compliment, in response to the following statement, ("Why should a professor profit from someone's ignorance..."), you should have written: "The professoriat must have been immeasurably enriched by the mere fact of your existence, then..." or something along those lines, instead of: "Apparently no professor made any money on you..." KaskadskyjKozak Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Better than some CEO of an insurance company smiling at me and telling I am so much better off than the rest of the world. Dude, Moore is a rich, fat fuck living the high life. He is no different than that CEO. He is indeed telling us how much better off he is than the rest of the world... as he cashes each check. Quote
JayB Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 BTW, were you, by any chance, strumming a guitar (acoustic, of course), or vividly imagining yourself doing so when the phrase - "Why should someone profit from someone's illness or injury?..." - popped into your head? Just wondering. Quote

Couloir Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 So the Club Gitmo detainees are getting good medical care? I thought there were being tortured. Quote
G-spotter Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Torture and medical care are often quite similar. Especially when they give you cancer but don't let you smoke medical marijuana to self-medicate. Quote

G-spotter Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 CBS I think you meant to say conservatism is a function of the posterior sphincter. A psychological equivalent of constipation. Quote
