Sherri Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 (edited) GO FOR IT! Who rides, how often and how far. Me, every day 1 1/2 miles each way. I average about 100 miles/week. I work at home, so it's not like I'm saving any commuting mileage, but I do most of my errands by bike and then some extra just for exercise. I love my bike. Edited May 16, 2007 by Sherri Quote
RogerJ Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 I ride every day 30 miles round trip. Every day is bike to work day! There was a similar incident in Portland a few years back to the one in Madison. The weather sure has been nice for riding. -r Quote
ClimbingPanther Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 You'll never get ME to bike to work on Friday. Heh heh heh, 'cause I'm not working on Friday, suckaz! Quote
archenemy Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 No chain = no bike good pic makes up for that Quote
fenderfour Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 There's a timing chain. I had to replace it last year. Quote
archenemy Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 next time, (a hint you may already know) about cam timing chains; they are endless chains only and require complete engine disassembly for replacement. Instead, consider replace the timing chain tension spring. This spring will allow excessive slack which causes noise when it becomes weakened with use. Quote
fenderfour Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 I've replaced tensioners in the past (2 honda v-fours), but this time the chain was needed. 42,000 miles on a 2000 Quote
archenemy Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 fun times. any vehicle work is better than a day in the office. Quote
