Just prior to an exam yesterday, as captive as captive can be, I had to listen about how one of the victims was a holocaust survivor. Fucking nerve. Story goes He braced himself in the doorway to his classroom, faced down the shooter and took bullets to buy time for his students to jump out the windows.

 

The nerve to survive, and the nerve to die.
