joblo7 Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 wtf just meet him somewhere public with a friend there....then you'll know. and you'll have a witness for the trial. Quote
layton Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 do you live in the sticks and are willing to relocate? Â If not, there are plenty of guys much much closer who i am sure are equally as interesting. Otherwise you're wasting your time and making yourself vulnerable. Quote
carolyn Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 You can pay to get a background check done on someone. You can also google their name and often find some information. Have a friend be at whatever place you go when you first meet. Stay in public. Have someone call you midway through the date. If its not going well, then tell him there is an emergency and you have to leave. If its going fine, then tell the caller you will talk to them later. Set up a few calls or text messages, if need be. Dont let him know where you live until you feel comfortable. Maybe avoid alcohol, initially so your judgement is sound? Â Follow your gut. Â Â Quote
lI1|1! Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 cindergirl, Â you should have your friends here at cc.com watching out for you. before you meet him have him show up at a pub club so your net friends here can check him out first. Â Â Quote

jordop Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 You can also google their name and often find some information. Yeah but you can also put some windowlicker's name in and get a reputable person by mistake Quote
kevbone Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 I have a man who wants to meet me, have chatted online for 6 months..........now he wants to drive 470 miles to meet me,,,should i or should i not? Â If you have to ask on this forum.....your already fucked. Quote
bstach Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 If he has chatted with you for 6 months, that says something. Take the normal precautions you would on any first date. Â Would you let someone belay you on the first date? Make sure he places protection. Quote
minx Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 i just think it's funny that you're asking this question on an internet forum Quote
