Climbering Jim in south Seattle

Anyone know about a gym opening up in the greater south seattle areas?

For a while there was talk of Vertical World opening a gym in that Tullys Coffee building they painted those flashy colors right next to I5 (used to be Ranier Brewery building with big R). I don't know if that is still going to happen though.

There is a "private" climbing gym near the old steel plant (West Seattle) Maybe that's what you heard about.

Yeah, that one is in the All Star Fitness in West Seattle. The membership is pretty expensive, and then they want you to pay extra on top of that to climb. I've never seen anyone on it but my son sending all the sick bouldering probs on the bottom. Its a nice little wall though, not that big but looks like it would be fun to climb on.

The All-Star fitness gym pinnacle is pretty lame IMHO. If you don't move your gear around in the lockers, they'll steal it from you too.

I heard this a while ago from a non-climber. Thought maybe there was some fresher news around. Guess not.

been hearing rumors of a cali investor currently building south of sodo district.

 

sg and vw both pulled out of the deals they were involved with.

There are lotta people in that region and a lot of big empty buildings. Whoever goes in down their certainly won't go out of business.

ah not that many empty bldgs that fit a decent gym profile, actually. and commercial space prices have gone way up in the last couple of years.
