jmo Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Need to find a place to take the kids sledding without paying $15 per person. Anyone have any suggestions? Quote
foraker Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Paying to take kids sledding.... This strikes me as fundamentally wrong. I especially fail to see the value one is getting for the $15. Seems a bit of a steep fee for having the asphalt widened a little bit and putting up a 'Sno Park' sign. Quote
chris Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I'm a bit confused why you pay anything to go sledding. If you have a Northwest Forest Pass or a Golden Eagle Pass, you can use any USFS Snow Park. And if you don't, you can go to almost open area with snow on it. Quote
mtn_mouse Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Need to find a place to take the kids sledding without paying $15 per person. Anyone have any suggestions? If it's a posted sno-park, you need that permit. The NW forest pass doesn't work. Here's an idea... If you don't want to pay for the costs to use a plowed parking lot, why not just park in a snow bank? Quote
BirdDog Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 A one day snow park permit is $8. There's a decent snow park/sledding area off exit 54 I-90. If you get up there early you can sell it to someone else on the way out for $4. That nets you out @$4. Skip the treat @ Mickey D's and you're $$$'s ahead. Quote
archenemy Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I don't know who would charge you for sledding on the I90. Just get out there and give it a try. Quote
jmo Posted January 5, 2007 Author Posted January 5, 2007 for the $15 I was talking about the tubing area at the summit at snoqualmie. I have a forest pass and a sno park permit, jsut need a good open area with an incline. Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Parked up by Gold Creek over the weekend, no Snow-Park (pronounced: rape me permit) pass, no ticket. You make the call. Quote

Good you got off free, when I was up there a few weeks ago we came out and there were a whole bunch of folks with nice pink tickets on their cars, including a couple WITH sno-park passes who thought it would be a good idea to start a new row of parking in a pretty dumb spot right on the corner off the exit. I was glad I paid my $8, even if it does suck. Quote
