Mos_Chillin Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Just got the slide show together. about 13 mins of pix and music. Quote
ketch Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 So here is the update on my gear. The projector and the screen are definatley a go. The generator is still a question. I should have the scheduleing of the generator nailed down in the next couple days. The generator (if it can go) is a super quiet small job. It will drive this projector and have 3.8amps 120volt left over which should handle a computer. If it needs to drive a sound system it would be a little small unless the sytem is small. I will post up as soon as I get mine figured out or someone else could step up with a bigger one. The big challenge is that the projector does not have a ride. Is there anyone out there that is in the Anacortes area or could make a detour? I could meet them on Friday afternoon to hand off gear. I will need to check ferry schedules to see when I can get there but it will probably be afternoon sometime. On the return I should be able to pick up the stuff from anywhere B'ham to Everett after the weekend. I am pretty open then. Quote

marylou Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 i already posted this, but is anybody making the trip from pdx and want to carpool? I met this guy down at Smif last weekend. His partner had forgotten to bring a belay device so I lent them my extra. They made sure to get it back to me that evening with many thanks, so someone should carpool with enelson, he's a nice cat. olyclimber Posted October 10, 2006 Author Posted October 10, 2006 Can anyone bring a few big tarps and some rope? Quote
marylou Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Is anyone else interested in a little potluckin'? I asked if this had happened in the past and was told that no, everyone looks enviously at the one guy's sandwich. I'd love to just bring one item, perhaps a nice slaw, and potluck my way through Saturday evening..... Quote
Mos_Chillin Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Can anyone bring a few big tarps and some rope? I got the "rope" Pal. I'll be fully "tarped" by the time you see me. Nudge, nudge, know what I mean. Say no more! Quote
olyclimber Posted October 10, 2006 Author Posted October 10, 2006 Ya, bring some tarps and rope too. Quote

Mos_Chillin Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Yeah, the fondue dipping was great. I was confused by the lack of melted cheeses...for a while. Quote
Blake Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Any rope-up people interested in trying Orbit or Outer Space on Saturday? Myself and two friends from Bellingham were gonna climb one of them, but it'd be easier to do two teams of two if anyone else wanted to go up as well. :here's hoping for a sub-11-hour ascent!: Weather looks sunny all week, then cloudy SAT and Rainy SUN.... olyclimber Posted October 10, 2006 Author Posted October 10, 2006 Steve at Terminal Gravity has donated two kegs of beer (one IPA, one Porter) with the idea that everyone who comes and has some donates as much as they can to Kurt's Recovery Fund. Thanks Steve! Quote
ketch Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 So I have a ride for the gear (I think) but the generator is not going to make it home in time. We have a volunteer for a generator so it looks like life is good. Quote
olyclimber Posted October 11, 2006 Author Posted October 11, 2006 FYI, i'm kicking everyone out when the beer is gone. but not before. i'll be pretty disappointed if we can't get this done. Quote
Blake Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Anyone from the San Juans or Anacortes or Whidbey going to be heading over, and could bring the generator? Quote
olyclimber Posted October 11, 2006 Author Posted October 11, 2006 could I get a volunteer or two for bringing up two large plastic garbage bags to keep the beer ice down in? preferably if you're coming up Friday night. i would also has people to bring ice, but if the cans come up i can stop at the store and load up on some friday night. Tony_Bentley Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Will the generator run the PA system and the projecor and computer? Otherwise the movie idea is out. I can bring some photos but the motion picture is ideal. Quote
olyclimber Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 i have two backup plans for a generator, and both of them will allow you to show your videos. Both are big generators, but we'll just plant them out in the woods and run a long extension so the noise isn't too much. Quote

Thanks Steve! A whole keg just for you?...fuckin' party on! Quote
olyclimber Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 In 1730, I won the First International keg stand contest against the thousands of street and river carriers of London, who carried goods and parcels off and on ships in the Thames and around the streets of England's capital. They named the beer in my honor. Quote
olyclimber Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 Hey, can anyone volunteer some tarps and ropes? I can buy a few to bring up, but I'd rather not if someone has one we can use. We just want to make sure that we have a place to view the videos in case of a brief fall shower. Quote
mattp Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I've got plenty of old climbing ropes. Doesn't everybody? How many do you need? Quote
olyclimber Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 Just enought to string up 2-3 tarps. I want to be able to cover all the A/V equipment, all people, and cooking. Normal stuff. So we just need some tarps. Anyone have a big tarp or two they can bring up? Quote
