letsroll Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 ya right not what you think. I have been using brownrice syrup for the past year. It works great in the summer, but when the temps dip it is near impossible to get out of the container. Are there any ideas on how to made it more viscus at lower temps? Brand name GU does not seem to be effected as much. What do they use? Thanks Quote
dt_3pin Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 add some rum. ? No. Orange Gu and Stoli = Gudriver. Very good in the cold. Very good in the heat for that matter. Quote

The other, as mentioned, is to dilute with alcohol. Alcohol would suppress the freezing temperature depending on how much you added. Quote
knotzen Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 I wonder if adding a little vegetable oil would work? Prolly you'll want to experiment a bit. Quote
ketch Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Don't let CBS get a swell head for being right. That recipe says to add gin to the GU if you are using certain flavors. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Don't let CBS get a swell head for being right. Same thing I said in the first place, sucka! Quote
gobriango Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Making your own Gu sounds ridiculous. Why not just use Hammer gel ? Its better than Gu anyway and much cheaper (if you know how to order it) Quote
genepires Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 are we to assume the best way to get it is to order it on line in the 26 serving bottle? If you have a better way, educate us please. Quote
